Creo que este fue el primer libro que leí relacionado con la filosofía Montessori, y creo que es una muy buena elección para empezar. Está escrito por Tim Seldin, el presidente de la Montessori Foundation, y comienza con una introducción que explica lo más básico de la pedagogía Montessori y por qué es tan interesante aplicarla en la educación de nuestros hijos.

El resto del libro es un compendio de ideas y consejos para hacer de nuestro hogar un entorno en el que los niños puedan desarrollar todo su potencial y aprender por sí mismos. Está lleno de fotografías muy ilustrativas y presenta algunas de las actividades más representativas de la pedagogía Montessori, a la vez que explica los conceptos básicos como los periodos sensibles, y muestra algunos de los materiales (muchos de los cuales están presentes en cualquier casa)

Muy recomendable para aquellos padres (o abuelos) que quieran integrar la filosofía Montessori en la educación de sus hijos (o nietos) y no sepan muy bien por dónde empezar. Y un regalo ideal para los que están esperando un bebé, porque esta aventura comienza desde el nacimiento!

I think this was the first book I read related to the Montessori philosophy, and I believe that is a very good choice to start. Written by Tim Seldin, President of the Montessori Foundation, it begins with an introduction that explains the basics of Montessori pedagogy and why it is so interesting to apply in the education of our children.

The rest of the book is a compendium of ideas and tips to make our home an environment in which children can develop their full potential and learn by themselves. It is full of very illustrative photographs and presents some of the most representative activities and principles of Montessori pedagogy, and also shows some of the materials (many of which are present in most homes).

Highly recommended for those parents (or grandparents) who want to integrate the Montessori philosophy in the education of their children (or grandchildren) and do not quite know where to start. And an ideal gift for those who are expecting a baby, because this adventure begins at birth!
