¡Buenos días a todos! No me puedo creer que ya sea junio… ¡se me ha pasado el tiempo volando! Hoy os traigo mi reseña (con swatches y varios looks) de la paleta After Shock ($10) de Bad Habit, ¡que hace mucho que os la prometí!
Hi everyone! I can’t believe it’s already June… time flew by so fast! Today I’m going to be reviewing the After Shock palette ($10) from Bad Habit (with swatches and looks inspo).
Antes de hablar de la paleta en sí, y ya que la aplicación Shop Hush sigue sin estar “disponible” a nivel mundial, ¡os recuerdo que aquí tenéis un post sobre cómo conseguirla aunque viváis fuera de los Estados Unidos (como yo)!
Before talking about the palette itself, and since the Shop Hush app isn’t available worldwide yet, I wanted to remind you that I wrote a post on how to get the app even if you live outside the USA that you can find here.
Se trata de un dupe de la Electric Obsessions ($27) de Huda Beauty. La diferencia de precio no es tan grande como con las paletas Athena o Aphrodite y sus respectivas originales, pero lo que no ha cambiado es el hecho de que Bad Habit es cruelty-free, y Huda no. Así que hoy vengo a contaros qué pienso de esta paleta, ¡y os enseñaré algunos de looks que he hecho con ella!
El packaging de la caja en la que viene es idéntico al de la paleta. Ésta contiene 9 sombras (3 shimmers y 6 mattes) de colores muy atrevidos y llamativos, que además son magnéticas y muy fáciles de sacar, lo cual es un plus para las personas a las que les gusta almacenar sombras en paletas vacías, como yo. También tiene un espejo mediano.
This product is known for being a dupe for Huda Beauty‘s Electric Obsessions palette ($27). The price gap is not as huge as it was with the Athena or Aphrodite palettes and their original versions, but the thing that hasn’t changed (and one of the main reasons why I keep buying from them) is the fact that Bad Habit is cruelty-free, whereas Huda is not. So today I’m going to give you my review on this palette and some inspo for looks!
The packaging of the box in which this palette comes in is identical to the palette. It contains 9 shadows (3 shimmers and 6 mattes) of bold and striking tonalities. They’re also magnetic and very easy to remove, which is a good thing for people who like to store shadows on empty palettes, like me. It also has a medium size mirror inside.
Textura | Texture
Las sombras de esta paleta tienen una textura muy cremosa; la única seca es Surge (color rojo vino), pero por otro lado, se difumina muy bien en el ojo y aguanta perfectamente. Sensation y Tingle (los rosas) quedan un poco desiguales al swatchearlas, pero siguen estando perfectas en el ojo, que es lo importante. Electronica (color amarillo) va por el mismo camino, aunque es más fácil de utilizar y se difumina muy bien. Plur (azul) es la más difícil de trabajar porque le cuesta más adherirse a la piel y se parchea un poco, pero queda preciosa. Chaser (naranja) es, sin duda, la mejor sombra mate de la paleta, se difumina muy bien sin perder su tono tan vibrante.
En cuanto a las sombras con brillo, estoy impresionada con todas ellas. El tono Drop es precioso, me tiene enamoradísima. Al utilizarlas con una brocha mojada, el efecto que queda es increíble.
This palette’s shadows have a very creamy texture; the only dry one is Surge (red wine color), but on the other hand, it blends nicely in the eye and holds up perfectly. Sensation and Tingle (the pinks) are a little uneven when you swatch them, but they look flawless in the eye, which is the most important. Electronics (yellow) has pretty much the same texture, but it’s easier to use and blends with other shadows perfectly. Plur (blue) is the most difficult to work with because it’s harder to add to the skin and it gets a little patchy, but it looks beautiful. Chaser (orange) is undoubtedly the best matte shade of the palette, and it blends very well without losing its vibrant tone.
As for shimmer shades, I have to say I’m impressed with all of them equally. Drop is definitely my favorite. When used with a wet brush, the intensity that you get is incredible.
Pigmentación | Pigmentation
La pigmentación de estas sombras es alucinante. Bad Habit siempre lo hace muy bien en este aspecto (ya lo veréis en la imagen de abajo), aunque creo que lo más importante sigue siendo la aplicación.
The pigmentation of these shadows is amazing. Bad Habit always does very well in this aspect (as you’ll see in the image below), but I still think that the most important part is how it applies with a brush.

Como ya os he adelantado al hablar sobre la textura, las sombras de esta paleta se trabajan bastante bien, por lo general. He tenido algunos problemas con Plur y Tingle, pero el resto funcionan muy bien. La forma que más me gusta de utilizar esta paleta es sin sellar el primer de ojos, de forma que el párpado siga algo mojado. Así, ¡las sombras se adhieren mucho mejor y el color es mucho más fuerte! En cuanto a las sombras shimmer, como casi siempre, la mejor forma de aplicarlas es con una brocha mojada para que tengan más intensidad.
As I’ve already explained earlier when talking about the texture, the shadows work pretty well. I’ve had some problems with Plur and Tingle, but the rest are very easy to use. I’ve found that the best way to use this is without setting the primer in place; when it’s damper, the shadows stick to the eyelids better and the colors pop so much more. I always apply shimmer shadows with a wet brush, as it provides more intensity as well.

Conclusión | Conclusion
Esta es, posiblemente, mi paleta preferida de Bad Habit. Te obliga a ser creativo, a utilizar colores atrevidos y llamativos, a huir de los looks naturales… y eso me encanta. El problema es, como siempre con estos dupes, que la idea original no es de esta marca, sino de otra. Y aunque no compraré de Huda Beauty porque no es cruelty free, creo que la calidad de esta paleta es muy buena, sobre todo si tenemos en cuenta el precio que tiene, y vale muchísimo la pena.
This is probably my favorite palette from Bad Habit. It forces you to be more creative, to use daring and bold colors, to escape from boring, natural looks… and I love that. The problem is (as always with dupes), that the original idea is not this brand’s, but Huda Beauty‘s. And even though I won’t buy from that brand because they’re not cruelty-free, I think that the quality of this palette is very good, especially for its price, and it’s so worth it.
