Senderismo en el chaltén: de la laguna torre a la laguna de los tres por las lagunas madre e hija

El Chaltén es maravilloso y por extensión el Parque Nacional Los Glaciares también. Al final del sendero hacia la Laguna Torre está el Campamento Agostini: limpio, ordenado, bien cuidado y de uso gratuito. Al final del sendero que lleva a la Laguna de los Tres (la base del Cerro Chaltén o Fitz Roy), justo antes de la última subida (1 km), está el Campamento Poincenot: limpio, ordenado, bien cuidado y, adivinad, también de uso gratuito.

Hasta ambos campamentos se llega caminando directamente desde el centro del pueblo de El Chaltén, ambos están a unos 10 km, pero también hay un caminito no muy transitado que los enlaza atravesando, como no, un bosque de lengas y bordeando las Lagunas Madre e Hija. Estas lagunas están al norte de Laguna Capri, donde también hay un precioso campamento gratuito, este a escasos 4 km del pueblo. 
Así que nos fuimos de la zona del Campamento Agostini, donde uno puede montar la tienda justo enfrente de la pared de hielo del Glaciar Torre y con el Cerro Torre tapándote el viento, hasta el Campamento Poincenot. Ahí montamos la tienda en el anfiteatro formado por el Cerro Chaltén un ratito antes de que el sol se escondiese por detrás del Cerro Saint Exupéry. 
Una vez montamos la tienda nos fuimos al mirador del Glaciar Piedras Blancas para hacer tiempo antes de cenar, que es muy bonito.
Cenamos y a las 21:00 H, después de un día entero a pleno sol en el que habíamos caminado 28 km, caímos rendidos: al día siguiente nos íbamos a levantar a las 4 para ver amanecer desde la base del Fitz Roy.El eslogan de El Chaltén es "paraíso de montaña", y bien merecido que lo tiene.Enrique & Marina

HIKING AROUND EL CHALTÉN: FROM LAGUNA TORRE TO LAGUNA DE LOS TRES THROUGH THE LAGUNAS MADRE AND HIJA
El Chaltén is amazing and so is the Los Glaciares National Park. At the end of the Laguna Torre track there is the Agostini Campground: clean, tidy, looked after and free. At the end of the path that takes you to the Laguna de los Tres (just before the last push to the base of the Fitz roy) there is the Poincenot Campground: clean, tidy, looked after and free.

You can reach both campgrounds easily walking from the centre of the village, both of them aren’t further than 10 km from El Chaltén. There’s a little track that links both campgrounds surrounding two little lakes: Laguna Madre and Laguna Hija. Those lakes are jus above the most famous Laguna Capri, where there is another free campground, just 4 km far from town. 
We left the Agostini campground area, where you can just set up your tent right in front of the ice wall of the Torre Glacier, and we hiked towards the Poincenot campground; where you can actually set up your tent in the bowl beside the Cerro Chaltén and Cerro Saint Exupéry. 
We set up the tent and we went to see the Piedras Blancas Glacier before dinner, which was beautiful as the san was setting just behind it and the reflections on the ice were stunning.
We had dinner at 9 p.m. and went to sleep soon after that as we were pretty tired after our 28 km hike under the sun. We were also getting up at 4 a.m. to see the sunrise from the base of the Fitz Roy!
