Silver & pastels: Hair Inspiration

Plateados y colores pastel: Inspiración para colores de cabello. 
Recuerdo en el año 2000,  ver la película "X-Men" y admirar y lo bien que Halle Berry se veía como "Tormenta" con su cabello blanco... Y a Hugh Jackman haciendo de Wolverine (¡obvio!).Back in 2000, when the "X-Men" Movie came out, I remember admiring Halle Berry playing Storm, white hair and all, and Hugh Jackman of course! 
A pesar de que desde entonces me encanta como se ve el cabello blanco platinado (incluso en personas cuyo tono de piel no es muy claro), no la consideré como una opción real para mi. Y por una aún más extraña razón, de un tiempo para acá si la he considerado una opción viable. For some reason, even though I really really liked the way white hair looks on a not-so-light skin tone, I didn't truly considered it as an option... and for weirder reason, I totally see it as a real option now! 
El año pasado, cuando por fin me decidí y me hice un corte tipo pixie ( que también fue un caso de "Creo que jamá traere así el cabello" y ¡zaz! que luego si me anime!), la chica que me atendió en el salón de Vidal Sassoon de Toronto me sugería que de una vez completara el look cambiando mi color de cabello a rubio platinado... La idea no me motivo en lo más mínimo, aunque si me paso que después vi a varias chicas luciendo un gris plata que me fascino. Last year, when I got my pixie cut - which it's another example of "ohh I would never do that to my hair" and then... bam!- a very nice lady from the Vidal Sassoon Salon in Toronto suggested that I bleached my hair to platinum blond, but the idea didn't trill me much. Some months later I saw a few gals rocking the silver gray hair, and fell in love with it! 
Algunos afirman que la tendencia del cabello gris (prematuro o bien obtenido por medio de tintes y decoloraciones) murió antes de encontrar su verdadero auge, pero la verdad es que igual da, ¡a mi me encanta!Some might say the gray hair trend is dead before it even reached its peak , but I seriously couldn't care less, I love it!Images via Pinterest. Una variante de esta tendencia que me encanta, es el azul grisaseo, como el que Katy Perry hiciera tan famoso. O también está el gris casi blanco con un toque de azul (como el de la foto). Another shade of hair coloring that  is based on silve gray is the blue that Katy Perry made famous. Ya sea todo el cabello del mismo tono, o en degradado estilo ombre, o mayoritariamente platinado y solo con puntas violetas, se ve padrísimo.And then its violet!... So girly and out of the ordinary! All in the same tone, ombre or only the tip of your mane, it looks a-m-a-z-i-n-g. 
Nunca he sido muy fanática del color rosa, pero en el cabello me agrada. Gwen Stefani como siempre creando tendencias, ella lo llevo glamourosamente en el 2000! Lo siento Nicki, pero no podemos decir lo mismo de ti.   I've never been a huge fan of pink, but somehow I do like it on hair! Remember how back in 2000 Gwen Stefani rocked her pink hair and managed to stay classy and chic! Sorry Miss Minaj, but we can't quite say the same about you!All images via Pinterest.Tras una platicada con  Pablo Rodríguez, y aprovechando el cambio de temporada, me decidí por un cabello en tonalidades rosa-violeta, y aquí les comparto el resultado.
So after a good chat with Pablo Rodríguez, stylist and makeup artist  - making the most out of the beginning of the season! -I made my mind and went for the violet & pink shades. Here's the result!
Mi cabello... ¡cual bugambilia! / Ever seen a Bugambilia flower? Well that's pretty much how it looks now my hair. 
Mi estimado Pablo, quien ha sido mi estilista intermitentemente desde el 2002 (eso de intermitentemente más que nada por no siempre coincidir en la misma ciudad, ¡o país!); me sugirió que en vez de brincar directamente a un plateado casi blanco, intentáramos un tono violeta. Le tomo varias horas, pero el resultado valió la pena, un color degradado, obscurísimo en las raíces y que se va aclarando hasta llegar a las puntas blancas. ♥ ¡Yeeii! I've known Pablo since 2002, and his been cutting and coloring my hair since then!... Well at least when we are in the same city. He suggested that instead of me going from dark brown to silver gray, I tried instead a shade that would eventually wash off to a gray shade, so he applied a violet-pink mixture, leaving my roots dark violet, the mid section bright pink and the tips of my hair almost white! I love it! ♥La bugambilia ya media despelucada por el aire, como buena representación de que el otoño ya esta aqui jeje. / This picture is a good proof of autumn's presence, that poor Bugambilia has definitely seen brighter days! 

Así se veía mi cabello ayer, luego les enseño como va evolucionando el color. Les debo fotos con el cabello suelto.
