The Magnetic Fields - 69 Love songs

LLevo unas semanas con el blog parado, debido a causas mayores que me están impidiendo no poder sentarme un rato tranquilamente frente al PC y hablaros un poco de música.
Es mas, incluso en estas semanas apenas he escuchado nada nuevo o he podido encontrar material, por eso me he dedicado a escuchar viejos discos, aquellos que llevaba tiempo sin darles salida y que precisamente ahora, son los que mas me apetecía escuchar, y entre esos discos se encuentra estre triple album creado por el genio Stephin Merritt y sus The Magnetic Fields
No se que contaros de este album, sólo que el propio título lo dice todo: 69 canciones de amor. No son 69 cantos al amor, no, son 69 canciones que hablan de historias de amor, desamor, historias que a veces acaban bien y otras que no acaban tan bien, como la vida misma.
69 canciones dispares, que nos llevan del pop al folk pasando por el rock, toques jazz, ritmos exóticos y un largo etcétera, porque 69 canciones dan para mucho. Y es que en este disco pasas de parecer estar escuchando a los mismísimos Beach Boys, como a la siguiente canción creer estar en un concierto de Jesus & Mary Chain o retroceder en el tiempo y escuchar un grupo de cámara o música barroca.
El disco nació en el lejano 1999.Cada cd está compuesto de 23 canciones, creo recordar que ninguna excede los 3 minutos. La Primera canción empieza por la letra A y la última canción del último cd empieza por la letra Z.
Este disco, por derecho propio y porque se lo merece, está entre los grandes discos de la historia del POP. Darle una oportunidad, no hace falta eescuchar los 3 cd's de golpe, digerirlo poco a poco, pero seguro que tarde o temprano, acabaréis rendido a él. Palabra :-)
