Altamente recomendado._Scott Yanow (allmusic)

Tony Martinez and The Cuban Power have been many times in my THE CUBAN BRiDGE radio shows playlists - specially in a cycle entitled "CUBAN JAZZ UNDERGROUND" in which I highlighted some of my favorite musicians included in his BAND - "The Cuban Power" is present in all its extension of Rhythms, genres and styles - it's a twisted repertoire with lots of elements to be chewing for years.
I 'll also like to highlight the presence of the brilliant Swiss Trumpet Master Mathieu Michel whom I met in person in Havana, Cuba a few years ago while the recording of the album CHALACUBANA Vol II @ EGREM Studios in Miramar.
Leader Martinez's album presents original compositions and the special participation of drummer Julio Barreto, trumpeter extraordinaire Julito Padron and pianist Gonzalito Rubalcaba, among many others like bassist Dudu Penz which I discovered through Julio Barreto's recordings as a leader.
