Trying a new style: a challenge

Hello everyone! Today I'm playing along with a challenge that has been difficult for me (well, that's why they call it a challenge right?) but at the same time has been an excellent learning experience. Taheerah Atchia has a great section at the Winnnie and Walter blog called "The Gossip column" and for this month issue she has interviewed an amazing cardmaker called Jocelyn Olson. By the end of the post you get a clear idea of what makes Jocelyn's style so special although you don't really understand how can she do it so gracefully. However, that's the challenge! Get inspired by her style and make a card.

¡Hola! Hoy participo en un reto que ha sido un poco difícil para mí (por eso lo llaman reto ¿no?), pero al mismo tiempo ha sido una gran oportunidad para aprender cosas nuevas. Taheerah Atchia tiene una sección en el blog de Winnie and Walter llamada "The Gossip column" y en la entrada de este mes ha entrevistado a una grande de la tarjetería: Jocelyn Olson. Al final de la entrevista tienes una idea bastante clara de qué hace tan especial el estilo de Jocelyn y al mismo tiempo sigues preguntándote cómo puede hacerlo parecer tan fácil. Y en fin, ¡ese es el reto! Utilizar su estilo como inspiración y crear tu propia tarjeta.

Even when I tried a different cardmaking style, you can still see my own print in this card. However, I did use some of the key elements Jocelyn's uses on her cards: layers, texture, gold and mixed media. What do you think about the result? I have to say that I'm pretty happy with it after all :).

Aunque haya intentado utilizar un estilo diferente, todavía se puede ver mi propia huella en esta tarjeta. Aún así, he conseguido utilizar algunos de los elementos clave que Jocelyn utiliza en sus proyectos: varias capas, textura, oro y mixed media. ¿Qué os parece el resultado? La verdad es que yo estoy bastante contenta :).
