Nos enfrentamos a un dilema desde hace semanas, la verdad es que la cosa no es que sea urgente. Pasarán meses hasta que tengamos que hablar (o no) con el escayolista, pero desde semanas le damos vueltas al tema y no llegamos a una conclusión.
We face a dilema in our new home. It isn’t an urgent matter, we have still months till we have to decide about plaster, but since weeks now we are trying to decide.
La verdad es que por defecto, en este momento, cualquiera te dirá que las molduras no se llevan. Pero bueno, cuando hace un año le dije a una vendedora de azulejos que íbamos a poner baldosas hidraúlicas me dijo que si estaba loca y a los albañiles todavía les hacen los ojos chiribitas con los azulejos estilo metro y lechada oscura… Así que no me sirve mucho lo que me digan.
the truth is, right now, everyone will tell you moulding are old fashioned. But, we really don’t care, we already had some stunning faces when we decided we wanted cement tiles for the bathroom and kitchen and our builder is till perplexed with the metro tiles with dark grout… So we don’t really care about what others use to do.

Yo estoy dividida, la casa es antigua, tiene los techos altos, las puertas son también grandes y estamos intentando que aunque las cosas sean nuevas, la casa siga conservando su personalidad de edificio de casco antiguo.
I’m completely lost. The flat is in the old town quarter, has high ceilings. Even when we are renovating the whole space, we want to keep the old personality of the building.
Ahora mismo los techos tienen molduras y rosetones, muy parecidos a los que se ven en muchos pisos antiguos, pero esos techos, hay que tirarlos para descubrir la estructura y no sabemos si deberíamos mantener esas molduras o descartarlas.
Right now the ceilings are full of mouldings and rosettes, very close to the ones you see in this old renovated flats. But this ceilings have to be removed to check the structure and we don’t know if it is better to put mouldings again or not.

Yo pensaba que no quería saber nada de molduras, pero no sé si será por la influencia de tanta casa de revista en pinterest, he descubierto que los moldurones y las escayolas me van bastante. ¿Qué opináis? ¿Podríais molduras en vuestra casa?
I thought I didn’t want to have mouldings, but maybe because of the pinterest addiction, I’ve discovered I love this big mouldings and tosettes. What do you thing? Would you put mouldings at your home?
