Why I ♥ Zaha Hadid

Originaria de Bagdad, Iraq, Zaha Hadid,  tiene todo mi respeto y admiración, y afrontémoslo también tiene un huequito en mi corazón, y lugar especial entre mis heroes. Born in Baghdad Iraq, Zaha Hadid, has all of my respect and admiration, just as a special spot in my creative heart, and of course and among my heroes. Zaha Hadid. Central Bank of Iraq, Beethoven Concert Hall in Bonn, Germany.No he sido lo suficiente afortunada para visitar alguna de sus creaciones, y vaya que me gustaría hacerlo, pero les puedo platicar que la primera vez que vi (en fotografía obviamente) uno de sus diseños (ya que no era un edificio completo sino un cuarto en el Hotel Puerta America en Madrid, España), mi curiosidad estaba por los cielos, foto tras foto me sorprendía con esos cuartos llenos de luz y con todas esas formas... así mismo, no dejaba de preguntarme "¡¿cómo le hacen para construir algo así?!", así que por favor si alguino de ustedes tiene acceso a un programa dónde expliquen el como se construyó alguno de sus edificios, ¡por favor compartánlo! Mientras tanto yo les puedo compartir este documental de la BBC sobre ella.I haven't been lucky enough yet, to visit one of her creations, and I sure hope I do so!- but I can tell you that the very fist time I saw one of her designs -a room in Puerta America Hotel in Madrid, Spain- my curiosity grew with every picture I scrolled through. I just wanted to see me more of those rooms filled with light, all those shapes... and kept wondering "how can they even build this?"... and I still do! So please if you have an insight on this or a good "How it's made" footage on either of her creations, please do share it!In the meantime, I can share with you this documentary by the BBC on Zaha Hadid. 
La curisosidad y las ganas de ver "¿qué pasa si hago esto o lo otro?", parecen el común denominador de sus diseños, Para poder intrigar a sus espectadores, ella también tuvo que sentir ese deseo de indagar.  The curiosity and the "let's see what happens if I do this" approach, seem to be the common starting point on her designs. In order for Zaha to intrigue her audience, she also had to feel that urge of exploring further on.
Me identifiqué con su infancia preguntona, y me identifiqué con su memoria precisa de cómo estaban decorados los cuartos de la casa de sus padres cuando ella tenía 8 años.
I felt identified with her questioning habits during her childhood, and her precise memory, capable of remembering how the rooms of her parent's house were decorated when she was only 8.
 Zaha HadidSus creaciones (que van desde edificios, muebles hasta accesorios), tienen una elegancia que les distingue, sin dejar de ser menos futurístas ni geométricas. Formas tan estudiadas y caóticas a la vez... no es sorpresa que el interior de sus edificios nos haga sentir como dentro de una nave espacial o como en una película de ciencia ficción, como una mezcla del mundo del "Quinto Elemento" de Luke Besson y StarWars.Her creations, that range from buildings to pieces of furniture and even accessories, have a great deal of elegance and uniqueness, while being very futuristic and geometrical. Shapes and forms that are very precise but chaotic at once. No wonder why the inside of her buildings may feel a bit as being inside a spaceship or as a character in a science fiction movie - a weird mix between Luke Besson's "Fifth Element" and "StarWars"

Al innovar, Zaha Hadid se encontró con  resistencia, como era de esperarse. Ella se graduó de London's Architectural Association en 1977, y fue hasta la década de 1993 cuando terminó su primer edificio, la estación de bomberos en Vitra, en el entretanto realizó diversas exibiciones en museos al rededor del mundo. Así como habemos quienes la consideramos una master de la creatividad, hay muchos otros que consideran su estilo como falto de sentido, así como hay quienes afirman que sus creaciones requieren de mucho esfuerzo para poder hacerse realidad (o para darle mantemiento incluso). While innovating, Zaha Hadid found resistance to her designs, which does not come as a surprise. She graduated on 1977 from London's Architectural Association, but it was until 1993 when she finished the Vitra Fire Station. Just like there is many of us who find her as master of creativity, there's many others who belive her style makes no sense, or even who believes that her designs require a great deal of work to become a reality - and to maintain too!

A pesar de las fuertes criticas a sus proyectos, e incluso la cancelación de algunos de ellos, Zaha no se detenía. Fue críticada por sus edificios costosos, fue rechazada por ser mujer, en una ocasión fue acusada de los desaolojos forzados que se requirieron para poder construir uno de sus proyectos en Azerbayán; pero ella siguió adelante y consiguió una impresionante serie de premios y condecoraciones a través de su carrera profesional.
Despite of the strong criticism against some of her proyects, and even the cancellation of a couple of them, Zaha never stopped. There were times in which she was criticized for her expensive creativons, she was rejected for beign a women, and once she was even blamed for the forced evictions in order to obtain the lot where one of her buildings in Azerbaijan was built, but she remained focus to her goals and she reached an impressive amount of awards and decorations. 
Zolhof Media Park , masterplans by Zaha Hadid. Antes que arquitecto, Zaha también era pintora, y al ver sus obras, casi siento un dolor de cabeza al intentar imaginar todos los pasos, todos los detalles que conforman el total de la imagen, no lo digo como ofensa sino con completa admiración por la claridad con la que cambiaba la perspectiva de un trazo. Before architecture, Zaha had a great command in painting. I see her work and it almost gives me a headache to try and figure out all of the steps that she follow in order to achieve the total of the image, and please don't get me wrong, since I say it from the full admiration that her ability on changing the perspective of her traces.
