A la ocasión del Télévie , el sábado 9 de Marzo se celebró la fiesta de los bratzelenen Gréiwemaacher. Ese día tienen lugar diferentes acontecimientos, como las demostraciones en directo de cómo hacer los bretzelsonndeg o bratzelen (en luxemburgués) y tanto niños como mayores son invitados a participar en la preparación de los bratzelen junto a cocineros confirmados, animados por el chef Henri Schumacher que es una autoridad en la pastelería Luxemburguesa. Télévie es una organización animada por la televisión RTL para recoger fondos para la lucha contra el cáncer y las enfermedades raras.
El bratzel es una de las especialidades dulces de la región. A contrario del típico bretzel alsaciano que es salado, el Bratzel luxemburgués es dulce, preparado con una masa parecida a la del croissant, va decorado con azúcar y almendras fileteadas. Sé que está delicioso porque hace unos años podía comerlo. Ahora es imposible ya que, como toda la bollería francesa, belga o luxemburguesa, la mantequilla es el ingrediente principal y llega una gran cantidad en cada porción, hasta más del 50%.
Tres domingos antes de Semana Santa, la tradición dice que el chico deberá regalar a la chica un Bratzel, cuando más grande es más la quiere. Si la chica accepta su amor, ella le regalará un huevo de chocolate en Pascua.

Gréiwemaacher es un pueblo a orillas del río Mosela y hace frontera con Alemania. Tiendas y jardines empiezan a mostrar las primeras flores, muestra de que el final del invierno está cerca. Las bandas musicales son típicas de los pueblos en Luxemburgo, casi cada pueblo tiene la suya, y están presentes en todas las celebraciones.

Gréiwemaacher is a town on the Mosel River and the border with Germany. Shops and gardens are beginning to show the first flowers, a sign that the end of winter is near. The bands are typical in Luxembourg, almost every town has its own band and they are present in every celebrations.

 

 

 

 

De vuelta a casa, hemos dado un paseo por el campo para que “Pepi” disfrute corriendo y yo me he relajado observando el cielo. A veces es mejor que una galería de arte porque el cielo nos muestra un nuevo cuadro cada minuto.
