Descubriendo cataluya

Las vacaciones siempre se hacen cortas, no nos hace falta Murphy y sus leyes para tenerlo claro. De vuelta a la rutina, y como acostumbro a hacer cada verano, os hago un resumen de mis vacaciones. Este año no han sido espectaculares, ni he surcado los mares, pero lo he pasado muy bien, he desconectado y me he reído mucho. /  Vacations are always too short, we don't need Murphy and his laws. Back to routine, and as I do each summer, hear I share my vacations with you. This year they haven't been spectacular, I haven't plow through the seas, but I had a lot of fun, I disconnected and I laughed a lot.
Vic es una ciudad muy bonita, te sorprendera! / Vic is a beautiful city, it would surprise you!
-  Vall del Nuria. 
El primer día lo empezamos con buen pie, y buenas rodillas. Ruta de senderismo para llevar al Valle del Nuria a unos 2000 metros del mar. La subida la realizamos por caminos estrechos donde las piedras nos acompañaban sin dejarnos tregua, 4 horas con cuestas pronunciadas y la adrenalina a tope. La ruta se puede hacer en unas tres horas pero merece la pena pararse para ver las cascadas y admirar el paisaje. También puedes acceder por medio de un ferrocarril de cremallera pero el efecto no es el mismo. / We started the first day with the right foot and knees. Hiking trail to get to Vall del Nuria about 2000 meters from the sea. The climb conducted by narrow roads with stones all the way, 4  hours with slopes steep and plenty of adrenaline. The route can be done in about 3 hours but it is worth to stop to see the falls and admire the scenario. You can also access via a railway but the effect is not the same.

Lo que mas me gusta del senderismo es el carácter de la gente, es como si todos fuéramos amigos. La gente es mas humana, es mas como debería ser siempre. / What I like most about hiking is the character of the people, it seems we are all friends. People is more human, is more like it should be. 



- Cadaques.
Se trata del pueblo mas oriental de la península ibérica. Situado en el alto Ampurda, esta aislado por dos montañas, lo que hizo que durante siglos fuera un pueblo pesquero separado del resto del mundo. El lugar tiene mucho encanto, por eso Salvador Dalí lo eligió para instalarse. Cadaques a cautivado a otros artistas como Picasso, Joan Miró, Eugenio D'Ors, Richard Hamilton, entre otros. En la actualidad se ha convertido un paraíso de mansiones de millones de euros, y en zona de turismo donde los Franceses son sus principales visitantes. / Is the most eastern town of the Iberian Peninsula. Located in the high Ampurda, is isolated by two mountains, which made for centuries a fisherman town separated of the rest of the world. The place is charming therefore Salvador Dalí chose it to settle. Cadaques has captivated artist like Picasso, Joan Miró, Eugenio D'Ors, Richard Hamilton and others. Today it has turn into a paradise for mansions wort millions euros and a tourist zone where french people are the main visitors.

- Barcelona.
La ciudad condal tiene mucho encanto, una gran urbe cosmopolita a la que podría acostumbrarme. El estilo es moderno, no resulta raro encontrar alguna obra artistica contemporanea decorando las calles de la misma. / The city is charming, a great cosmopolitan city I could get use to. The style is modern, is not odd to find some contemporary artistic work decorating the streets.

En nuestro día en Barcelona, comimos en un restaurante Argentino que lleva unos pocos meses abierto: Milo Grill. Situado en la Calle Balmes, 127, muy cerca de Paseo de Gracia, en pleno corazón de la Eixample de Bacelona. La decoración esta muy cuidada y el sitio tiene mucho encanto pero sobre todo nos sorprendió por la buena cocina. Sus platos son de calidad, y sus carnes exquisitas. Si vas no dejes de probar el solomillo, y los canelones de langostinos y verduritas. / In our day at Barcelona, we eat at an Argentine restaurant, that has opened recently: Milo Grill. Located at Calle Balmes, 127, close to Paseo de Gracia, in the heart of Barcelona's Eixample. The decoration is very elegant and the place has a lot of charm but above all we were surprised by the good food. Their dishes are quality and the meat is exquisite. If you go be sure to try the steak and the shrimp cannelloni and vegetables.
No es un sitio barato, pero no dejes de ir por eso, tienen muy buenas ofertas por El Tenedor. Sin duda es un sitio que merece la pena conocer. / Is not a cheap place but don't be put off by that, they have great offers with El Tenedor. it's definitely a restaurant worth visiting. Por la tarde, dimos una vuelta por mi barrio favorito: El Barrio Gótico. Se trata del centro histórico, es el núcleo mas antiguo de la ciudad. Se llama barrio gótico porque un gran numero de edificos que lo componen son característicos de este arte, o al menos lo parecen. En 2011 se publico una tesis doctoral de Agustín Cócola titulada: "El barrio gótico de Barcelona: planificación del pasado e imagen de marca", en la que el autor afirmaba que la mayoría de los edificios de este barrio no son originariamente góticos, sino restauraciones y nuevos proyectos neogóticos realizados entre los siglos XIX y XX. Cócola justifica este énfasis hacia el estilo gótico como una acción para atraer el turismo y por la identificación de la burguesía catalana con el arte gótico como época de esplendor. / In the afternoon we took a walk thought my favorite neighborhood: The Gothic quarter. Is the historical center, is the oldest city core. Is called Gothic quarter because many of the buildings that form it are characteristic of this art or at least are appeared to be. In 2011 a dissertation was published by Agustín Cócola entitled "The Gothic Quarter of Barcelona: Planning the Past and Brand Image", the author believe that many of the buildings of this quarter are not Gothic in there origins but neo-Gothic restorations and new projects between the 19th and 20th centuries. Cócola justifiesthis emphasistowards the Gothicstyleas a move toattract tourismandto identificationof the Catalan bourgeoisiewith the Gothic art asheyday time.

Cierto o no, me quedo con esas calles pequeñas, esos callejones que se cruzan unos con otros y que descubren rincones asombrosos. Una reja oxidada se asoma en un balcón en el que me pasaría horas leyendo; una terrazita con dos mesas junta una tertulia entre amigas; en la plaza de la esquina solo se escucha el dulce ronroneo de la intimidad. / True or not, I stay with the small streets, these alleys that intersect with each other and discover amazing places. A rusty grille overlook on a balcony I could spend hours reading; a two table terrace get together a gathering with friends; in the square of the corner the sweet purr of privacy is heard. Si te gustan las joyas, sumergete en La Basilica. Una tienda de joyas contemporáneas en pleno corazón del barrio gótico (C/ Sant Sever 7, Barcelona). Como si fueras Alicia en el País de las Maravillas cuando entras en Basilica, te introduces en un mundo de fantasía donde el diseño menos esperado es posible, estas preparada? / If you like jewellery, dip into La Basilica. A store of contemporary art in the heart of the gothic quarter (C/ Sant Sever 7, Barcelona). As Alice in Wonderland as you get into Basilica, you get into a fantasy world where any design is possible, are you ready?

- Llançà y Port de la Selva.
Al norte de Cap Creu se erige Llançà, y pasando por ella llegas a Port de la Selva. Llançà se encuentra entre el Cabo de Creus y la frontera francesa, y es conocido por ser un puerto de pesca importante asi como zona de turismo. / At the noth of Cap Creu is set Llançà and crossing the town you get to Port de la Selva. Llançà is set between the Creus Cap and the french frontire, and is known for been an important fishing port as well as tourist area.


Port de la Selva, fue lo que mas me gusto del viaje (bueno junto con el senderismo). Otro pueblo pesquero y turístico pero de menor tamaño. A tan solo 8 kilómetros de Llançà, deja ver un paraíso de agua, rocas, acantilados y paisajes naturales. Perfecto para aislarte del resto del mundo, dar paseos por el puerto, por el Club Náutico o por la orilla del mar. Si vas no dejes de disfrutarlos y termina en la iglesia Santa Maria de les Neus, en el núcleo urbano. Te va a encantar! / Port de la Selva, was what I liked most of the trip (along with hiking) Another fishing and tourist village but smaller Only 7 miles from Llançà, reveals a paradise of water, rocks, cliffs and natural landscapes. Perfect for isolating yourself from the world, take walks in the port, at the Yacht Club or the seashore. If you visit it don't stop enjoying the place and end it in the church of Santa Maria de les Neus, downtown You'll love it!

- Sitges.
Tenia muchas ganas de conocer Sitges, de pasear por la playa descalza observando el romper de las olas en la orilla mientras mis pies se hundían en la arena pero no hubo suerte. Pasamos el día en Sitges lloviendo, las calles peatonales estaban presididas por paraguas, lo que hizo que no pudiéramos disfrutar de la meca del festival de cine como deberíamos. / I was eager to visit Sitges, strollingbarefootalong the beachwatching thewaves crashon the seashorewhile myfeet sank intothe sandbut had no luck. We spent the day in a raining Sitges, the pedestrian streets were dominated by umbrellas, so we couldn't enjoy the film festival mecca as we should.
Si vas a Sitges no te olvides de ir de compras. Es de esos lugares donde encuentras cosas ideales en cualquiera de sus tiendas. Eso si, no dejes de comparar precios; puedes encontrar lo mismo a precios muy distintos. / If you go to Sitges don't forget to go shopping. Is one of those places you can find great things in any of their stores. But don't forget to compare prices; you can find the same with different prices.
