Inside julia restoin roitfeld's closet

La vida es una aventura sin sentido, si te fijas en los detalles que nos van sucediendo según trascurre, te darás cuenta de que muchos de ellos tienen su porque y su sentido. Hace casi 5 años abrí este blog,  sin mas, sin pretensiones, ni nada, solo por probar, por pasar el tiempo. Dos meses después empece con una sección "el armario de...", el primer post (de esta sección) fue  sobre un gran icono de estilo Olivia Palermo, pero la idea surgió viendo un documental donde Julia Restoin Roitfeld hablaba de su armario. / Life is a nonsense adventure, if you pay attention to the details that happened while it take place, you will notice many of them have a why and a sense. Almost 5 years ago I opened this blog, without aspirations, or nothing, just to try, to spend my time during something that I like. Two month after I had started with the section "the closet of...", the first post (of this section) was about the popular style icon Olivia Palermo, but the idea come from watching a documentary were Julia Roitfeld talked about her closet. 


Julia no es Olvia, claro que no. Aunque curiosamente, me ha costado bastante escribir este post, es como si Julia tuviera una magia especial, como si hablar de ella y de su estilo fuera algo tabú. Si, Julia no es Olivia pero tienen bastante en común: son hijas de, viven en Nueva York, no se pierden ningún desfile, saben de moda y nos encantaría tener su armario, te parece suficiente? pues empecemos con el post. / Julia isn't Olivia, of course no. Although it has been hard writing this post, it seems Julia has special magic,  as if talking about her and her style were something forbidden. Yes, Julia is not Olivia we have that clear already, but they have a lot in common: both are daughters of, they live in New York, they don't miss any catwalk, they know plenty about fashion and we will love to have their closet, is this enough? let's start with the post.

Pero, quien es Julia Restoin Roitfeld? / But who is Julia Restoin Roitfeld?
Julia Restoin Reitfeld es la hija de la Directora de Vogue Paris, Carine Roitfeld y el empresario Christian Restoin, fundador de la firma de moda Equipment. Julia nació el 12 de noviembre de 1980 en París. Su infancia fue distinta de lo normal, su padre, Christian, era un productor de cine descendiente de inmigrantes Rusos, que decidió abrir, en 1976, una firma de camisas para mujeres. En poco tiempo la empresa subió como la espuma y empezaron a diseñar también otras prendas. / Julia Restoin Reitfeld is the daughter of the editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris, Carine Roitfeld and the bussinesmen Christian Restoin, founder of the fashion brand Equipment. Julia was born in november 12th 1980 in France. Her childhood was different, her father, Christian, was a movie producer descendent of russian immigrants that decided to open, in 1976, a shirt brand for women. In a short time the enterprise become famous and started to design other garments.


Carine era estilista y modelo, poco a poco fue abriéndose camino y logro entrar en Vogue Paris. Allí fue editora de la revista, desde el 2001 hasta el 31 de Enero de 2011. Carine anuncio su retirada en diciembre de 2010, y fue Emmanuelle Alt quien la ha sucedido en el cargo. Carine and Christian no estan casados pero llevan mas de 30 décadas juntos. Ambos tuvieron dos hijos Julia y Vladimir, este ultimo es dos años mas pequeño de Julia. Curiosamente, su familia despierta tanto interes que existe un blog que se llama "quiero ser un Roitfeld". / Carine was stylish and model, gradually she make her way to get into Vogue. There she was editor-in-chief of the magazine, since 2001 to January 31th 2011. Carine had announced her withdraw in December 2010 and was Emmanuelle Alt who has succeeded her. Carine and Christian are not married but they have been together 30 years. Both had two chilfren, Julia and Vladimir, the last one is younger. Her family is so interesting that a blog was born due to them, the name "I want to be a Roitfeld".

Su primer trabajo como modelo fue a los 4 años para Benetton. / Her first work as a model was with 4 years old for Benetton.
Julia estudio en el colegio de diseño Parsons, en Nueva York. Durante su ultimo año en Parsons Tom Ford (amigo de su familia) la escogió como imagen de su perfume Black Orchid en 2006. Posteriormente trabajo para H&M como modelo durante el lanzamiento de la linea capsula Roberto Cavalli. Ha sido embajadora de firmas como Mango y Accessorize. También ha diseñado una linea de lenceria para Kiki de Montparnasse. / Julia studied at Parsons design school in New York. After her last year in Parsons Tom Ford (friend of the family) chose her as teh image of his Black Orchid perfume in 2006. After it she worked as a model with H&M for the luch of Roberto Cavalli limited collection. She has been ambasador of brands such Mango and Accesorize. She also has design a lingerie line of Kiki of Montparnasse.

Julia mantuvo una relacion durante años con el modelo sueco Robert Konjic con quien tuvo a Rommy, su hija que todavia es muy pequeña. Hace un año lo dejaron, y Julia decidió volver a Manhattan con Rommy. / Julia had a relationship for years with the sweden model Robert Konjic with whom she has Rommy, her daugher that still a little girl. A year ago they broke up and Julia had decided to go back to Manhattan with Rommy.


Su vida es un cuento de hadas, de esos a las que todas nos gustaría vivir. Destinos paradisíacos, fiestas para las mas vips, desfiles y photocalls, vestidos de ensueño, prendas de los mas prestigiosos diseñadores, taconazos de Yves Saint Laurent,  chaquetas de Chanel, amigas de lo mas in, ... vamos lo mas de lo mas. / Her live is a fairytale, of those we would love to have. Idyllic destinies, vips parties, catwalks and photocalls, dreaming dresses, garments of the most remarkable designers, Yves Saint Laurent heels, Chanel jackets, the coolest friends,...  


Por eso, Julia ha decidido hacer una marca con su nombre, creando un blog de como criar a tu hijo; rommyandthebunnies, y trabajando en su Instagram, mostrando ese mundo con el que el resto soñamos. La idea es crear un portal de estilo de vida, aunque ahora asesora solo a madres: ...  "quiero compartir mis descubrimientos y experiencias, es importante que todas se vean reflejadas", comento al Dailymail. / For that Julia had decided to do a brand with her name, creating a parenting blog, rommyandthebunnies, and working on her Instagram, showing that world we dream with. The idea is to create a lifestyle portal, although at the moment is only for mothers:

A la vez es embajadora de Motilo, una web y tienda online de moda que te asesora en como vestir, y te redirige a su tienda online. Ademas, sigue trabajando para modelo cuando le sale alguna campaña. / At the same time she is ambassador for Motilo, a web and online store that advise how to dress and it send you to their online store. Plus she still working for few fashion campaings.

Tras el nacimiento de su hija Rommy su estilo ha cambiado. La vemos con mas energía, con mas color, su cara es mas alegre y feliz coordina con sus estilismos. Sus looks son mas elegantes y estilosos, parece que ha sabido encontrar el equilibrio perfecto. / After Rommy's birth her style has change. We see her with more energy, with more color, her happy face coordinate with her looks. Her outfits are more elegant and stylish, it seams she has found the perfect balance.



Le encanta jugar con las tendencias, y hace lo posible por no perderse ni una. Este verano el crop top es uno de sus favoritos. Le gusta combinarlos con faldas tubo, ya sean midi or por encima de la rodilla. / She loves to play with trends, and she does miss one. This summer the crop top is one of her favorites. She use to wear them with pencil skirts, no matter if they are midi or adove the knee.

Le gustan los looks arriesgados, desenfadados y sensuales, aunque desde que nacio Rommy se ha vuelto un poco mas lady, y menos roquera. Una de sus prendas fetiche son las faldas lápiz de cintura alta, ella misma lo reconoce: "me encantan las faldas lápiz de cintura alta- hacen que parezcas mas alta y te tapan el estomago". / She loves risky, relaxd and sensual, althogh after Rommy was born she has turn into a more lady like and less rock. One of her fetich garments is the high pencil skirt, she just admitted: "I’m into high pencils – they make you look taller and cover your stomach."


Le gustan los estampados, el animal print es uno de sus favoritos aunque también incorpora a su armario flores, topos y otros. / She loves prints, animal print is her favorite although she also add flowers, dots and others to her closet.




Para dias informales le gustan los vaqueros, J.Brand es una de las fimas que lleva, y los combina con bailarinas en la mayoria de las ocasiones. / For casual days she loves jeans, J.Brand is one of the firm she wears, she mix them with ballerinas, most of the time.

Julia ha nacido en el mundo de la moda, con los progenitores que tiene no es de extrañar que entienda mas de ella que nadie, por eso algunas de sus opiniones son interesantes de conocer./ Julia has born in the fashion world, with the parents she has is not odd she knows a lot about it, therefore is nice to know what she things.
- "Me pone mala cuando te critican por llevar el mismo conjunto un par de veces. Por que si te sientes bien con algo, quieres ponértelo mas de una vez, verdad? De hecho, lo vas a llevar una y otra vez."  / "It make me sick when they judge you  for wearing the same outfit twice. Becuase if you feel good wearing something, you want to wear it more than oneces, right? As a matter of fact, you are going to wear it ones and over again."

Es adicta a unas cuantas casas de lujo, entre las que se encuentran Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, Louis Vuiton, Emilio de la Morena, Dolce & Gabanna, ... / She is addicted to quite few luxury houses, among them are Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, Louis Vuiton, Emilio de la Morena, Dolce & Gabanna, ...

 En su armario (obviamente) no faltan camisas de Equipment, camisetas de The Row, y vestidos de SEA. Asi como piezas de amigas diseñadoras, Katie Walsh es una de ellas. / In her closet (of course) are Equipment shirts, The Row t-shirts and SEA dresses. Also she has pieces of friends designers, Katie Walsh is one of them.

Le encanta conocer tiendas diferentes, sobre todo si son vintage y tiene sus favoritas. En Ibiza esta Genesha, una tienda vintage con prendas curiosas que le apasiona. En Nueva York, New York Vintage. / She loves different stores, and more if they are vintaege, she has her favorites. In Ibiza Genesham a vintage store with piece she loves. In New York, New York Vintage.
Tambien le gustan las firmas low cost: Top Shop, Asos, Urban Outfitters son algunas de ellas. Por ejemplo, su ultima compra favorita fue una falda rosa de cuero con cintura alta que compro en Asos. / She also like low cost brands: Top Shop, Asos, Urban Outfitters are few of them. Her favourite recent purchase is a high-waisted pink leather skirt from Asos.

Le encanta comprar online: Net a Porter, Shopbop y Berneys son sus webs predilectas. / She love to shop online: Net a Porter, Shopbop and Barneys are her favorites.
Para ropa intrior y bikinis, Agent Provocateur es una de sus tiendas favoritas. / For underwear and bikinis, Agent Provocateur is one of her favorites.
Como toda mujer es adicta a los zapatos, cuanto mas altos mejor. Yves Saint Laurent, Jimmy Choo, Chanel, Miu Miu, son algunas de las firmas que forman parte de su coleccion. / As any woman she is adicted to shoes, as higher the heel as better. Yves Saint Laurent, Jimmy Choo, Chanel, Miu Miu, are few of the brands that form part of her collection.





En cuanto a las joyas le gusta la discrecion y las piezas pequeñas. Los colgantes y las pulseras no suelen faltar en sus looks que acompañan firmas como Cartier, Pamela Love, Chanel o Feston. Adora las piezas vintage cargadas de recuerdos, su favorita es un Rolex que heredo de su abuela. / About jewellery she likes discrepcion and small pieces. Pendants and bracelets are in any look she wears with names as Cartier, Pamela Love, Chanel or Feston. She loves vintage pieces full of memories, her favorite a Rolex she inherit from her grandmother.
