Hace mes y medio nadie sabia quien era. Ni ella misma se hubiera imaginado que 12 Años de Esclavitud, iba a lanzarla al estrellato, y que desfilar por la alfombra roja de los Oscars seria el precedente de un sueño hecho realidad. / Half a month ago no one knew how she was. Not even herself could imagine 12 Years a Slave, was going to lunch her to fame, and catwalking through the Oscar's red carpet was going to be the precedent of a dream come true. 

Hoy, marzo de 2014, Lupita Nyong'o es toda una celebridad, una actriz condecorada con la cruz de la fama, su amuleto: una estatuilla dorada de nombre Oscar. / Today, March 2014, Lupita Nyong'o is a celebrity, a decorated actress with the cross of fame, her amulet: a gold statuette named Oscar. 

Su biografía. / Her biography.
Lupita nació en 1983 en México,  en el seno de una familia procedente de Kenia. Antes de cumplir un años su familia volvió a Kenia. Su padre es Senador en Kenia, Peter Anyang' Nyong'o, aunque en 1983 era profesor universitario de Ciencias Políticas. Y su madre, Dorothy es directora ejecutiva de Africa Cancer Foundation. / Lupita was born in 1983 in Mexico, in a Kenya family. Before she turn one year old, her family move back to Kenya. Her father is a Senator in Kenya, Peter Anyang' Nyong'o, although in 1983 he was a collage professor.And her mother, Dorothy, ejecutive director of  Africa Cancer Founation.
Con 16 años sus padres la volvieron a mandar a México durante 7 meses, para que aprendiera español. / When she was 16 her parents sent her back to Mexico for seven month to learn spanish.

Estudio Teatro y Cine en la Universidad de Hampshire, y termino sus estudios en Yale, donde realizo un curso de teatro. Poco después, tras finalizar en Yale, su primer trabajo ha sido 12 Años de Esclavitud. Que su primer trabajo como actriz le haya proporcionado un Oscar como Mejor Actriz Secundaria tiene mucho que decir de ella misma. Es como de fabula, es la primera actriz africana en ganar un Oscar, y la primera mejicana en tener la estatuilla. / She studied Theater and Film at Hampshire University, and she finish her studies in Yale, where she took a course in acting. A bit after finish in Yale, her first job has been 12 Years a Sleeves. Fanny because on her debut performance she has won an Academy Award as a Best Supporting Actress. Is like in a tale, is the first African actress and the first mexican actress to win an Oscar.

Aunque su primer debut profesional como actriz fue en el teatro, en Kenya cuando tenia 14 años, allí interpreto a Julieta en la obra de Shakespeare, Romeo y Julieta. / Although her first professional acting debut was when she was 14 years old at the theater in Kenya, there she play Juliette at the Shakespeare popular Romeo and Juliette play.
Admira a Cate Blanchett, Meryl Street, Jessica Chasti y Leonardo Dicaprio. Estaba fascinada por Dicaprio desde que vio Romeo y Julieta. Curiosamente, pudo conocerle durante la gala de los Globos de Oro, atrevida y con mucha seguridad en si misma, se acerco al actor de El Lobo de Wall Street y le dijo: "Siento molestarte, soy Lupita Nyong'oy estaba deseando conocerte desde que vi Romeo y Julieta".  Dicaprio, fue encantado con Lupita, a lo que ella esta muy agradecida. / She look up to Cate Blanchett, Meryl Street, Jessica Chasti y Leonardo Dicaprio. She was fascinated by Dicaprio since she watched him in Romeo and Juliette. As a anecdote, she could met him during the Golden Globe Awards, cheeky and with plenty of self confident, she get close to the Wolf of Wall Street actor and told him: "Very sorry to bother you but I am Lupita Nyong'o and I been dying to meet you since I watched Romeo and Juliette". Actually he was very nice to her.

Sus peripecias en las alfombras rojas de medio mundo, han permitido que sea considerada ya como una It-girl. A eso se le suma el estilo, y la elegancia que desprende por si misma, que revistas como Vogue o Dazed & Confuse hayan contado con ella como imagen de portada, y que haya obtenido el Oscar como Mejor Actriz de Reparto.  / Her adventures on the red carpets of half of the world, have made her a It-Girl. You have to add the style, and elegance that she spread for herself that magazines such as Vogue or  Dazed & Confuse have count with her as image of their covers, plus obtaining the Oscar as a Best Actress in a Supporting Role.



Ha sido elegida por Miu Miu para ser una de las caras de su campaña Primavera 2014. Ha colapsado portadas y portadas de revistas de moda y entretenimiento, que no es poco. Estos días, Lupita esta sorprendida de todo, incluso de que se hable de su estilo. Asi lo expreso a la revista online Vulture: "Tienes que llevar algo a los eventos y yo llevo cosas, y la gente habla de ellas. No estaba planeado. Pero es divertido y me siento alagada de que profundicen en mis estilismos". / Those days, everything is a surprise for Lupita, even when her style is a piece of interest. She told Vulture, a online magazine: "You have to wear something to these events, so I wore things, and people took to them. It was not my agenda at all! But it's fun, and I'm flattered that everyone is digging my style".

Los cortes atrevidos, los vestidos con aire diferente le encantan. Prefiere los vestidos que caen rectos y terminan con una ligera cola, que los vestidos con falda abullonada. Sin embargo, aun siendo así, se pone de todo. / She loves risky cut and special dress. She prefers dresses that makes a column and finish with a small tail than dresses with flaying skirts. Although, she wears all.
Si el mismísimo Yves Saint Laurent estuviera redactando estas lineas diría: "la profundidad del color de su piel hace resaltar excepcionalmente la intensidad de los colores de los vestidos que lleva". Asi es, Lupita les da una luz especial, un brillo de diamantes que hace muy notorio cualquier atuendo que vista. / Is Yves Saint Laurant would be writting this now he would say: "the color depth on her skin makes the color intensity of the dresses she wears highlight"So right, Lupita gives them a special light, a diamond gleam that spreed into any of her outfits.

Precioso era el vestido verde de Christian Dior Couture que llevo en los premios Bafta. El vestido combinado con el cinturón y las pulseras queda divino. / Gorgeous the green Christian Dior Couture dress she wore for the Bafta Awards. The dress accessorize, a gold belt and cuff, make all the outfit look divine.

Con un precioso vestido turquesa de Gucci acudió a los SAG Awards. El vestido estaba decorada por unos tirantes que mezclaban el turquesa y el dorado, que le otorgaba un aire distintivo y original a ese precioso estilismo. / She went to the SAG Awards with a beautiful turquoise gown. The dress was decorated by a flower embroiderer turquoise and gold strap that gave a distinctive and original appearance to the look.

A los Globos de Oro acudió con un colorido vestido en forma de capa de Ralph Lauren Primavera 2014. La luz que desprendía con el, hizo que la alfombra roja pareciera incolora. / To the Golden Globes she attended with a colorful red gown with the form of a cape sign by Ralph Lauren Spring 2014. The light it shed make the red carpet look like it had no red at all.

Lupita prefiere vestidos originales, atrevidos pero en su justa mediada, y de todos los tonos. / Lupita preffers original and daring dresses but just in the right messure, and of all the colors.



El naranja es uno de los tonos que mas le favorecen. La mezcla que hace con los salones de leopardo es simplemente una maravilla. / Orange is one of tones that better flatter her. The mix with the leopard pumps is just marvelous.

Tambien le gustan mucho los pantalones cortos, con ellos ha acudido a mas de una entrevista televisiva. La firma elegida para la gran noche fue Prada, sin ninguna duda era algo que ya estaba predecido. El vestido era de seda plisada en color azul cielo con gran escote enforma de V. La falda es pura belleza, gracias a los cristales incrustados nos traslada hasta el Lago de los Cisnes. En los pies llevaba plataformas de Prada (aunque no se ven) y para completar el estilismo escogio joyas de Fred Leighton. / The choisen brand for the evening was Parada, which was a open secret. It was a light blue pleated silk dress with a deep V-neck. The skirt is pure beauty, it was enriched with crystals and took as to the Swan lake. On her foots Prada satin platforms (although we can't see them) and to end up the look she chose Fred Leighton jewels.

Si le preguntamos sobre su diseñador favorito, sin ninguna duda nos indicara que es Miuccia Prada, claro que no sabemos si es así, o si el que sea imagen de Miu Mui tiene algo que ver.  Lo que si es cierto, es que Lupita ha aprovechado estos últimos meses para vestir de unos cuantos diseñadores: Dior, Gucci, Ralph Lauren, Eli Saab, Proenza Schouler, Altuzarra, etc. Cada vez que se la ha visto, en la alfombra roja o fuera de ella llevando algún vestido el diseñador siempre era nuevo, no suele repetir, o al menos no lo ha echo desde su carrera hacia los Oscars. Eso si Chanel, junto con Prada, es la excepción. / If we ask her about her favorite designer, without no dude she would say Miuccia Prada, of course since she is Miu Miu's image couldn't be another. What is true, is that Lupita has take advantage of the few last month to dress by many designers: Dior, Gucci, Ralph Lauren, Eli Saab, Proenza Schouler, Altuzarra, etc. Each time we saw her in the red carpet or out of it wasa any dress the designer was different, always a new one, she didn't wore twice the same designer, at least since she ruin torward the Oscars. However, Chanel along with Prada is the exception.

Dejando las alfombras rojas de lado, del armario de Lupita poco sabemos y la información es bastante escasa. Lo que si sabemos es que le encanta jugar con el color, y los accesorios, de ahí que mezcle el tono del vestido y los zapatos; en muchas ocasiones ambos son distintos pero combinan perfectamente entre si, me encanta! / Leaving red carpets aside, about Lupita's closet we know few, and the information we have is pretty much none. What we really know is that she loves to play with color, and accessories, therefore she mix the color of the dress with the shoes; many times both are different but match perfectly. 



Esta belleza de ébano, todavía tiene mucho que decir. Adora la moda y lo ha demostrado estando presente en algunos de los desfiles mas prestigiosos del momento. La seguiremos viendo, y mucho, esperamos que poco a poco nos deje descubrir su estilo casual y personal, fuera de tanta alfombra roja. / This ebony beauty still has alot to say. She loves fashion and has prove it by been at a few front rows. We would still see her, and hope she would let us discover her casual and personal style aside from red carpets.
