Pfw: the controversial dior show fall-winter 2011

 













Al principio el discurso del Presidente de Dior, Sidney Toledano: “El hecho de que el nombre de Dior por medio de su diseñador, por brillante que sea, haya podido mezclarse con palabras intolerables nos es muy doloroso…”  / At the beggining the speech of Dior’s President, Sidney Toledano: “It has been deeply painful to see the Dior name associated with the disgraceful statements attributed to its designer, however brilliant he may be…”
“Esta prueba es dolorosa también porque todo el mundo en Dior se dio en cuerpo y alma a su trabajo y está estupefacto y triste por sus palabras incalificables y por tratarse de alguien a quien apreciábamos por su gran creatividad…” / “These statements have deeply shocked and saddened all at Dior who give body and soul to their work, and it is particularly painful that they came from someone so admired for his remarkable creative talent…”

Luego el desfile: Inspirado en el estilo dandy de los poetas románticos ingleses, la colección recuerda mucho a la del año pasado (si quieres verla click aquí) por lo que claramente se ve una falta de creatividad. Además los diseños no son coherentes, pasamos de una camisa de cuadros roja al mas puro estilo Isabel Marant a diseños más clásicos. Los tonos son muy variados así como las telas; colores pastel, looks primaverales, piel, lana, tweed, muselina, seda… / Then the catwalk: Inspired by the dandy style of the English romantic poets, the collection reminds so much to the last year one (if you want to see it click hear) so clearly there is a lack of creativity.  Moreover, the designs are not consistent, they go from a red plaid shirt that reminds to Isabel Marant, to a more classic looks.  The colors are fabrics are many; pastel tones, spring looks, fur, wool, tweed, chiffon, silk…
Por último mi conclusión: El discurso del Presidente de Dior, y esa muestra con todos los trabajadores de la firma francesa en el escenario, es un claro ejemplo que tras cada diseñador, y colección hay un gran equipo detrás, del que nunca nos tenemos que olvidar, porque parece que al final el éxito se lo lleva sólo ese gran nombre, habiendo un equipo extraordinario detrás de él. / Finally my conclusion: The speech of the Dior President and the show with all the workers of the French brand on stage, is a clear example that alter each designer, and each collection are a big team behind, we can’t never forget about, because it seems that at the end the success it’s goes only for that big name, having an extraordinary team behind him.
