The Quiet Revolution – Pulp

Otra demo que merecería su sitio en una (ojalá llegue algún día ) edición deluxe para «We Love Life«, el disco de despedida de la banda de Sheffield: se titula «The Quiet Revolution» y la grabación que se puede escuchar corresponde a las sesiones del 23 y 24 de octubre de 1999 en los Wessex Studios londinenses. La calidad de la grabación que circula por las redes es la que es, pero lo que se escucha es una canción de Pulp con todas las de la ley, y bastante consistente con el disco que finalmente publicarían, eso es seguro. Parece que en los primeros ensayos el grupo se refería a ella como «Donovan» por los aires (¡los tiene!) al «Sunshine Superman» del cantautor escocés, y ojo que a puntito estuvo de dar título al álbum: En 1999, los rumores indicaban que el próximo álbum de Pulp se titularía, justamente así, «The Quiet Revolution«, por ser este el nombre de una de las canciones que andaban interpretando en vivo en ese momento. En el año 2000, cuando se tuvo constancia de que The Quiet Revolution había quedado fuera de las canciones que integraría el nuevo disco de la banda, su club de fans comunicó que no existía aún un título provisional para el álbum. (En una entrevista concedida años después, Jarvis le echaría la culpa al pobre Chris -«The Lady In Red«- de Burgh por haber usado ese título para dar nombre a su disco de 1999). La primera rectificación oficial al respecto se produciría finalmente en 2001, cuando ese mismo club anunció que el álbum se llamaría «Pulp Love Life«, y finalmente, tras los ataques del 11 de septiembre, Jarvis decidió cambiar el título del álbum a «We Love Life«.
