Time for mules

Para cualquier mujer un zapato es un must have, para una fashion adicta es una obsesión. Mi novio todavía se sorprende de la cantidad de calzado que tengo, cuando aprenderán los hombres que "una mujer nunca tiene demasiados pares de zapatos"? / For any woman a shoe is a must have, for a fashion addict is an obsession. My boyfriend always get surpise for the among of shoes I got, when men will lear that "a woman never has two many shoes"?

Para colmo las modas también vienen en forma de zapato, una temporada se llevan las sandalias de gladiador, cuando ya forman parte de nuestro armario, se ponen de moda las sandalias-botas, cuando ya nos acostumbramos a ellas, toca las sandalias de dedo... y así sucesivamente. Ahora es tiempo de zuecos. Conozcamoslos! / To top fashion also comes in shoe forms, one season gladiator sandals are in, when they are part of our closet, sandals-boots are the queens, when we are use to them, is time for toe sandals... and so on and on. Now is time for mules. Let's learn about them.

Los zuecos son ese tipo de calzado que se caracteriza por no tener parte trasera. Si fueran seres animados serian híbridos, si, como el personaje de Tyler en Los Diarios Vampiricos, y es que si nacimiento se debe a la mezcla de dos zapatos. Por un lado los salones con el frente cerrado y tacones, y por otro, la zapatilla de estar por casa, con la parte trasera descubierta. / Mules are this type of footwear that is known for been backless. If they were animated beings they would be hybrids, as the character of Tyler in Vampire Diaries, because they are born thanks to the mix of two shoe models. In one side, the pumps with the front close and with heels, in the other, the sleeper whose main characteristic is been backless. 


Los zuecos en moda y en la historia. / Mules in fashion and in history.
Los noventa continúan siendo la fuente de inspiración para las ultimas tendencias, después de los crop tops, los zuecos son los reyes de esta temporada, y es que ya lo fueron también en los 90's. Recuerdo como me encantaba el look de Sarah Michelle Gellar en Se lo que hicisteis el ultimo verano con esos zuecos marrones que, realmente si te fijas, son horrorosos. Nostalgícamente pienso en los que tenia en mi armario, igualitos pero en negro, y me encantaban. / 90's are still the sources of inspiration for the lastest trends, after crop top, mules are the kings of this season, they also were in the 90's. I remember how I use to like the look of Sarah Michelle Gellar in I know what you did last summer with those brown mumes that if you really take a close look are horrible. Longing I recall I had a similar in black and I loved them.

Pero los zuecos no se inventaron en los 90. Manolo Blahnik recuerda en los 80 era uno de los accesorios al que mas tiempo dedicaba en su estudio, tal como comento en Mayo de 2012 a WMagazine "en los 80's solo hacia zuecos", y ademas los considera un tipo de calzado exquisito: "cuando andas con ellos lo haces de una forma diferente. Para mi es muy sexy, porque tienes que encontrar tu equilibrio. Los reinas egipcias podían andar con zuecos de oro y marfil, te lo imaginas, click click. Y Madame de Pompadour andaba por Versalles con sus zuecos, click click... puedes pensar en algo mas exquisito?". / But mules weren't invited in the 90's. Manolo Blahnik rememeber in the 80's they were the footwear he spent his time with at his studio, as he told WMagazine on May 2012 "in the 80's I did nothing but mules", and so he see them as an exquisitive footwear: "when you walk in mules, you walk a bit differently. It's very sexy to me; you have to get your balance. Egyptian queens would be walking around in these kind of mules of gold and ivory, can you imagine? click click... And Mademe Pompadour in her mules, walking around Versalles, click click. Can you think in something more exquisitive?"

Asi es, las reinas egipcias los llevaban, aunque históricamente se considera que nacieron en el siglo XVI. Fuera como sea, su popularidad nació en el siglo XVIII, entonces se trataba de un calzado distintivo de la clase alta, ya que el pueblo no podía llevarlo porque se escurría fácilmente, y asi se convirtió en una prenda que caracterizaba el estatus social de ahí que damas como la Marquesa de Pompadour los calzaran. Gracias a su carácter de alto standing, perduraron con el tiempo, y en los años 20 cambiaron de bando siendo los preferidos de concubinas, y prostitutas. Como el tiempo lo cura todo, se olvido que ciertas damas de la noche los habían calzado con anterioridad, pero nadie olvido el lado sensual del que estas lo caracterizaron, y algunas de las estrellas de Hollywood como Marilyn Monroe y Jayne Russell se hicieron fans de ellos. / So Egyptian queens use to wear them although in fashion history is consider they were born in the 16th Century. Out as either, their popularity started in the 18th Centrury, there it were a high sociaty garment, a regular laborer couldn't wear it due to the fact that this shoe easily could slipped.  So it turn into a sign of high society so ladies such as Madame Pompadour wore it. Thanks to the asociation of luxury they stay and at the 20's become the footwear use by concubines and prostitutes. As time heals everything, the idea that some nigh ladies wore it was erase, but no one forgot it sensual side, and certanly Hollywood celebritis such as Marilyn Monroe and Jayne Russell become fans of them.

Menos mal que para esta temporada los diseñadores le han dado un aire nuevo con diseños arquitectónicos, tacones stiletto, modernas siluetas, y subida de la altura del tacón. Céline, Chloé, Altuzarra, Victoria Beckham han apostado por ellos como accesorios para mostrar sus colecciones. / Luckly for this season designer had give them a now air with architectural designs, stiletto heels, modern silhouettes and by increasing the high for the heel. Céline, Chloé, Altuzarra, Victoria Beckham have embraced them as the accessory to show their collections.

Seguramente se te habrá pasado por la cabeza, en algún momento, la idea de que no son para ti, que son cero estéticos y que no te ves con ellos. Ciertamente no eres la primera, no dan buena imagen a las piernas, visualmente cortan el pie, y tienen un aire masculino y de abuela que los delata. Asi que cuando empece a recopilar imágenes para hacer este post (a mediados de febrero) a mi tampoco me lo parecían pero, al igual que Carine Roifeld (quien los ha criticado mas de una vez), he sucumbido a sus encantos. / Surely it has cross your mind the idea they are not for you, that they are no aesthetics and that you don't see yourself wearing them. You are not the first one with those ideas, they don't flatter the legs, they visually cut the feet, and they got a male and grandma style that doesn't help. So when I started saving image for this post (on February) I neither like them, but as Carine Roifeld (who has criticized them more than once) I've succumbed to its charms.

Como ocurría con los pumps de Valentino, algunos modelos destacan sobre le resto. Se trata de esos zuecos que no dejamos de ver en las revistas, y en los blogs. Modelos de lo mas populares que se nos pasan de presupuesto a la mayoría de los seres mortales, y por eso, y porque llevan el nombre de algún diseñador, se convierten en "los quiero". / As happened with Valentino pumps, few models highlight over the rest. It's about those mules we don't stop seen in magazines, websites and blogs. Popular models that are over the budget of most mortals, and for that, and because they are named after a designer, they turn into "I want them".

Se trata de un modelo escultural, gracias a la forma del frontal y del tacón tan especial. / Is an escultural model, thanks to the front figure and the special heel.



- Tibi. 
 
Ideales y muy chic, este modelo con los cristalitos en el tacon es unico. / Ideal and chic, this model with crysrals in the heel is unic. 



Tibi tambien cuenta con este modelo con el tacon en marron y un ribete blanco que separa el zapato y la suela. Es muy mono pero no tiene nada que ver con el anterior. / Tibi also has a model with brown heels and a white border that separates the shoe from the sole. Is cute but has nothing to do with the other one.

- Chloe.
Chloe cuanta con algunos diseños muy chic y estilosos, apostando siempre por la variedad de modelos a elegir. / Chloe have few stylish and chic models, always beating for the variety of models you can choose.



Como llevarlos. / How to wear them.
Al tratarse de un calzado del que no teníamos noticias en los últimos años es posible que nos cueste hacernos a la idea de como llevarlos, así que te dejo algunas ideas. / Been a footwear we had no news in the recent years may cost us to get the idea how to wear them, hear I give you some ideas.
- Con vaqueros. / With jeans.

Esa pieza básica que tanto nos gusta y que nos viene como  anillo al dedo cuando hace un poco de fresco. Pontelos con los vaqueros un poco arremangados, o con un modelo tipo boyfriend iras de lo mas estilosa y chic. / That basic piece we love that much, and that is perfect when it comes the cold. Wear them with rolled up jeans, or with a boyfriend model, you will look stylish and chic.



- Con un pantalon. / With pants. 

Los pantalones están cada vez mas de moda. Se llevan de todos los largos y de todos los estilos, desde los ajustados hasta los de pata elefante pasando por los pijama o por los de aire sporty. Los zuecos le dan un aire menos serio a esos pantalones que tanto te gustan pero que te parecen demasiado formales, y sin embargo le proporcionaran un aire elegante y distinguido a esos otros modelos que son mas casuales. / Pants are everyday more fashionable. They take all the longs and all the styles, from skinny jeans to wide leg going through pyjamas and sporty models. Mules gave them less serious to the most formal models, however they gave them a elegant and distingushed  to those casual pants.



- Con un vestidito. / With a dress.

En verano el vestido es uno de nuestros grandes aliados, ya que al ser fresquito nos protege de las altas temperaturas. Si los combinas con un vestido de fiesta, iras de lo mas original porque cuando se trata de zuecos (en 2014), en la sofisticacion esta el gusto. Y si lo que quieres es un look casual, los zuecos te darán ese aire chic y elegante, curioso no? / In summer a dress is one of our biggest alied, since been a cooler garment protect us from the high temperatures. If you wear them with a party dress, you will look so original because when it comes to mules (in 2014) in sophistication is the taste. And if you want a casual look, mules will give you that chic and elegant touch, odd doesn't it?



- Con unos shorts./ With shorts.

Ya sean vaqueros o de tela, de vestir o con un aire casual, puedes usarlos para combinarlos. El short es esa prenda de la que nos olvidamos en verano y de la que en primavera nos acordamos gratamente. No es la prenda que mejor queda con zuecos pero si una de las que mas usamos en verano, y por eso es interesante saber como combinar ambos. Quedan mas estilosos con un short de vestir, deja el momento short vaquero para esos momentos en los que no quieres preocuparte de tu estilismo y si de tu comodidad. / In denim or fabric, dressy or casual, you can wear them as you like. The short is a grament we forget about in winter and come across when Spring start. Is not the ideal garment to wear with moles, but is one of the clothing we use more in summer, and due to that is interesting how to mix it. It look more stylish with fabric shorts than with denim, so left the denim for the moments you don't care about your look but of been comfortable.



- Con una falda. / With a skirt.

Son los aliados perfectos para faldas midi, o que terminen en la rodilla ya que las sandalias que se atan en el tobillo acortan mas la figura y son una mala opción para llevar con este tipo de faldas. Sin embrago, las faldas minis quedan mejor con otro tipo de calzado. / They are the perfect allied for midi skirts or those whose hem finish just a little over the knee because ankle straps sandals would short the leg and are a bad option to wear with this kind of skirts. Although midi skirts look better with other shoe.



Mi apuesta. / My bet. 
Estoy enamorada de este modelo de Zara, aunque tienen otros ideales, este es elegante y estiloso, por eso me gusta tanto. / I am in love with those mules from Zara, they have another cute ones, but this one is the most elegant and stylish, that's why I love them so much.
