Se trata de una firma de moda francesa creada por Thierry Gillier en 1997. Su bisabuelo fue Andre Gillier, fundador de Lacoste, del que algo corre por sus venas ya que Thierry tenia muy claro que quería estudiar arte, y eso hizo. La moda, el arte y el diseño son algunas de sus grandes pasiones, y gracias a eso hoy contamos con Zadig & Voltaire. / Is a french fashion brand created by Thierry Giller in 1997. His great grandfather was Andre Gillier founder of Lacoste, which blood still runs in Thierry veins, he has clear he wanted to studies art and so he did. Fashion, art and design are few of his biggest passion and thanks to this we have Zadig & Voltaire.

El estilo de la firma pronto logro su reputación gracias a sus prendas clave: vaqueros, botines y chaquetas de cuero, que abrieron rápidamente un hueco en el mercado de lujo. El nombre de la firma surgió como inspiración del titulo del libro de Voltaire "Zadig ou la Destinee", un nombre muy elegante e ingenioso que pronto se hizo muy popular en los círculos de amantes de la moda pret a porter. / The label style soon won its reputation thanks to the clue pieces: jeans, boots and leather jacktes, that opened a gap in the luxury market. The brand's name was inspired by the Voltaire book, "Zadig ou la Destinee", a very elegant and witty name that soon was popular as redy to wear by every fashion lover.

Pero no fue hasta 2003 cuando la diseñadora Cecilia Bonstom tomo las riendas como directora creativa de la firma. Fue Cecilia quien estableció ese espíritu rockero y bohemio que caracteriza a Zadig & Voltaire. Asi mismo, ella también fue la culpable de hacer de las camisetas y de los jerseys de cachemir un icono de Zadig & Voltaire. / But was in 2003 when the designer Cecilia Bonstom become the creative director of the label. She was the one who establish the rock and bohemian spirit that characterize the firm. She also was guilty to set the t-shirts and the silky cashmere knits as icon of Zadig & Voltaire.

En 2004 Zadig & Voltaire creo una colección para hombres, así como una para niños. Y fue ya a partir de 2008 cuando la firma empezó a crear accesorios de cuero, bisutería, gafas, perfumes y velas. / In 2004 Zadig & Voltaire create it's first men collection, as well as the children one. In 2008 the brand started to create leather goods, jewellery, eye-wear, perfume and candles.

En 2011 aposto por una campana publicitaria fuerte, cuya musa fue la modelo Erin Wasson, quien también creo una colección capsula para la firma. Y es que a Giller le gusta mucho colaborar con otros diseñadores, de ahi que la firma lance coleciones capsula con esta finalidad. / En 2011 the brand bet for a strong advertising campaign whose muse was the model Erin Wasson, who also created a capsule collection. Giller loves to collaborate with different designers so the brand also lunch capsule collections with this purpose.

Como es la mujer de Zadig & Voltaire? / How is Zadig & Voltaire women?

Para Giller la mujer no debe ser hiperfemenina, porque puede caer en la vulgaridad. "Una mujer no necesita maquillaje, ni zapatos de tacón alto para estar bella" declaro Thierry Giller a la revista Aufeminin. "Hoy en día puede salir con unos vaqueros!... una mujer debe guardar su espíritu y su singularidad. En mi opinión, la vestimenta debe preservar el intelecto de las mujeres, su personalidad." / For Giller woman shouldn't be very feminine, it can sometimes develop a vulgar side. "I consider that a woman does not necessarily need makeup or high heels to be beautiful." Thierry Giller told Aufeminin magazine. "Today, she can really go out wearing jeans!... A woman must keep her spirit, her singularity ... To me, the outfit must preserve the intellect of women, their personality."

Asi mismo, Giller compartió con Aufeminin, como es su icono de moda: "Creo que ciertas mujeres han marcado la moda, como Jane Birkin, hermosa en los 70, con su estilo andrógino. Charlotte Gainsbourg, hija, lo hizo de una manera muy contemporánea. También me gusta Emmanuelle Seigner, creo que tiene algo peculiar, una personalidad real! También me gustaría vestir a Keira Knightley ... muy flaca, muy intelectual, es muy andrógina; corresponde con mi musa." / Therefore Giller shared with Aufemenin, his fashion icons: "I think certain personalities have marked fashion, like Jane Birkin, incredibly beautiful in the 70s, with her androgynous style. Charlotte Gainsbourg, daughter, took over in a very contemporary way. I also like Emmanuelle Seigner, I think she has a quirky thing, a real personality! Recently, I saw Keira Knightley I'd like to dress her... very skinny, very intellectual, it is very androgynous and corresponds with my muse.

Para la nueva campana otoño-invierno 2015/16 la firma francesa ha vuelto a optar, como imagen, por la modelo rusa Sasha Pivovarova. Una rubia de ojos claros con mirada misteriosa que posa en el apartamento de Thierry Giller. / For the new fall-winter 2015/16 campaign the french brand has choise, again, the Russian model Sasha Pivovarova. A blonde girl with clear eyes and a mysterious look that pose at Thierry Giller apartment.

Con ella pretende representar a la mujer Zadig, una mujer real con espiritu rockero, y parisino, que piensa por ella misma, y que tiene mucha personalidad. / With her they pretend to show Zadig woman, a real woman with rock and parisen spirit, that things for herself and has a lot of personality.

Piezas como jerseys oversize, vestidos estampados con aire behemio, botines rockeros que terminan en punta a lo Cocodrilo Dundee, leggings, vestidos ajustados y una nueva version del bolso modelo Candide, icono de la casa. / Pieces such a oversize sweater, print dresses with bohemian air, rock booties that ends up as Crocodile Dundee, leggings, tight dresses and a new version or the Candide purse, the icon of the house.
