Assaad awad ss 2014

Viernes por la tarde, tras una ligera siesta me arregle y puse rumbo al Centro Cultural Conde Duque, donde se celebraba el desfile de Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid en Off de Assaad Awad. Pero ¿quien es Assaad?  Assad no se el tipico diseñador, para nada, por eso antes de entrar de lleno es su colección te voy a hacer un pequeño resumen, aunque estoy segura de que cuando veas su trabajo, no te vas a olvidar de él. / Friday afternoon, after a short nap I got ready and went to Conde Duque cultural center, where took place Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid Assaad Awad catwalk. But who is Assaad? Assaad is not a regular designer, so before jumping in the collection I will give you a small summery, although I am positive when you see his work, you are not going to forget him.

Nacido en Beirut, Assaad comenzo su carrera en el mundo de la publicidad como Director Creativo de varias agencias de publicidad en el mundo arabe, pero ser creativo publicitario quema mucho, y tras 14 años decidio romper con todo y perseguir su sueño. Fue muy valiente; hizo lo que tenia que hacer, los sueños son para perseguirlos, no para soñar. / He was born in Beirut, Assaad started his professional career at the advertising world as Creative Advertising Director in few Advertising agencies of the Arabian world, but been creative burns too much, and after 14 years he decided to break with everything and follow his dreams. He put his back into and did what he had to do, dreams are to be follow not for dreaming.
 Curiosamente, Assaad puso rumbo a España asento su taller en Madrid y empezo a dirigir una revista sobre la noche madrileña. Los contactos que fue adquiriendo mientras estaba al frente de la revista le abrieron las puertas de las pasarelas de moda. Gracias a su estilo llamativo, peculiar, y exagerado Lady Gaga se fijo en el, y le pidiero que diseñara varios modelos para sus videoclips y actuaciones. Esta colaboracion le abrieron grandes puertas: diseño accesorios para la coleccion primavera-verano 2012 de Thierry Mugler, grandes fotografos como Mario Testino han solicitado sus modelos para sesiones fotograficas, ha trabajado para Madonna, y diseñadores de la altura de con Maya Hansen y Juanjo Oliva. Su primer desfile fue para presentar su coleccion "Metamorphosis" en Febrero de 2012. / Oddly, Assaad decide to come to Spain set his workshop at Madrid and started to direct a magazine about Madrid's night. The touch he got while was at the front of the magazine help him to get to the catwalks. Due to his flashy, peculiar and extravagant style Lady Gaga called him and asked him to make few designers for few videoclips and gigs. This collaboration made him popular: he had designed the accessories for Thierry Migler Spring-Summer 2012 collection, amazing photographers as Mario Testino asked him for pieces to use for their shootings, he has work with Madonna, and designers such as Maya Hansen and Juanjo Oliva. His debut was with "Metamorphosis" on February 2012. 
"Meteor" es su segunda coleccion. Su inspiracion Oriente, en concreto Japon y el ying y el yang; la filosofia antigua con la estetica moderna, el equilibrio de los contrarios. / "Meteor" is his second collection. His muse is the East, especially Japan, and ying and yang; the old philosophy with a moder estetic, the balance of the opposite. 

El desfile comienza, las luces se apagan y aparece una figura femenina con una mascara que impide ver su cara. Es la maestra de ceremonias, la estrella invitada, la actriz Rossy de Palma, un personaje peculiar, con quien Assaad ya habia trabajado con anterioridad. / The catwalk begging, lights turn off and a femenine figure appears wit a mask, her face is unseen. Is the emcee, the guest star, the actresses Rossy de Palma, a peculiar celebrities, who has work with Assaad before.


Los dieños son arriesgados pensados para una mujer diferente, con caracter fuerte, atrevida, rebelde, que quiere llamar la atencion y no pasar para nada desapercibida. / His designs are risky though for a non regular woman, with strong nature, daring, wild that want to call the attention and not unnoticed.



La coleccion tambien incluye algunos diseños para el hombre. Un hombre distinto, atrevido y poco comun. Tan poco comun, que el diseñador juega con el espectador y presenta como modelo a Pablo Ibañez, conocido como El Hombre de Negro, un personaje televisivo extravagante. / The collection also brings designs for men. A different men, wild, and very unusual. Is so unusual that the designer play with his guest and presents Pablo Ibañez as a model, know as the Men in Black, a extravagent television character.

Su material por excelencia es el cuero. Como el mismo dice "el cuero es un material vivo, va cogiendo la forma del cuerpo segun lo vas usando, se va adaptando a ti. Eso le convierte en un material unica".  Sin embrago, en esta ocasion, ademas del cuero utiliza la madera, ambos son materiales escasos, y los mezcla con la polipiel y el spandex. / His main material is leather. As he said "leather is a alive material, it takes the form of the body as is been use, it gets adapt to you. This make it in a unic fabric." However, this time, besides leather he uses wood, both are limited materials, and he mix them with synthetic leather and  spandex. 


Las formas son puras y refinadas. Se trata de prendas muy diversas y distintas, que desbordan creatividad por los cuatro costado. No hay repeticion de patrones. / The forms are pure and refined. They are very diverse and different, cretivity overflows on all sides. They are not equal patterns.



Como accesorios destacan los tocados y sombreros que llevan el sello de Biliana Borissova, los zapatos y los bolsos de United Nude y las gafas de Paulino Spectacles. Los bolsos son totes y de mano, de tamaño medio; ideales. / As accessories highlight the hairpieces and hats signed by Boliana Borissova, the shoes and purses by United Nude, and the sunglasses from Paulino Spectacles. The purses are totes and hand ones, the side is middle; just perfect. 



El final es apoteosico, caras simpaticas y alegres saludan al publico. El desfile final viene precebido por Rossy de Palma, ella lleva el paso y el ritmo, el resto la sigue. Una vez que han andado por el escenario, todos rodean al modelo final; un traje de novia con mucho arte, eso si, japones. La guinda final es el saludo del diseñador, muy agradecido y feliz. / The end is tremendous, frendly and happy faces greet the public. The end of the show preceded by Rossy de Palma, she marks the rhythm, the rest follow her. Ones they have walk through the stage, all surround the final model; a wedding dress very artistic, total Japanese. The icing on the cake is the catwalk of the designer, he salute very grateful and happy.



Gracias por confiar en la moda española y apostar por ella. Lo que hace falta es creatividad, hay gente muy buena y muy valida, y Assaad Awad nos lo ha demostrado con su moda peculiar y un tanto fetichista. / Thank you for trusting in Spanish fashion and for betting for it. We need creativity, there are very valid and great designers and Assaad Awad has prove it with a peculiar and fetishist way.
