I live in Phoenix, Arizona in the United States. It’s a desert, it’s too hot, and too dirty, but I’m happy here. I am now a full-time writer, but I spent the last eleven years being a stay at home mom to my four kids. I love to read, watch sports, and do outdoors stuff. (As long as it’s not in Arizona in the summer, because, again, too hot!) I’m sarcastic, and easy going, and named my cat Mr. Darcy because, well because I LOVE Mr. Darcy!1.- En primer lugar, para conocerte, cuéntanos algo sobre ti.

2.- When and why did you start writing?
It’s just something I’ve always done. I completed my first novel when I was fifteen years old, but ever since I learned how to write, I’ve been writing down stories. I don’t know that there is a why to it, I just do. It’s who I am. I have a million stories in my brain and getting them out on paper is the only way to make the voices stop shouting in my head. LOL, of course, finish one and three more will replace it, so the voices are pretty much a constant companion.2.- ¿Cuándo y por qué comenzaste a escribir?
Es algo que siempre he hecho. Terminé mi primera novela cuando tenía quince años, pero desde que aprendí a escribir, he estado escribiendo historias. No sé que hay una razón del por qué, sólo lo hago. Es quien soy. Tengo un millón de historias en mi cerebro y conseguir que ponerlas en papel es la única manera de hacer que las voces dejen de gritar en mi cabeza. LOL, por supuesto, termina uno y tres más lo sustituirán, por lo que las voces son más o menos un compañero constante.
3.- When and how were you inspired to write the novel? Can you talk a little bit about the inspiration behind Cinder&Ella?
Cinderella is my favorite fairy tale and I’ve always known that eventually I would write my own adaptation of it. I read/watch every version of Cinderella I come across. Seriously, it’s a compulsive habit for me. I suppose I used all those adaptations as my inspiration for my version of the tale.3.- ¿Cuándo y cómo te inspiraste para escribir la novela? ¿Puedes hablar un poco sobre la inspiración detrás de Cinder&Ella?
Cinderella (La Cenicienta) es mi cuento de hadas favorito y siempre he sabido que con el tiempo me gustaría escribir mi propia adaptación del mismo. Leo/veo cualquier versión de La Cenicienta que me encuentro. En serio, es un hábito compulsivo para mí. Supongo que usé todas esas adaptaciones como mi inspiración para mi versión de la historia.
4.- Cinder&Ella is the first new adult book that you publish. You've also published young adult and paranormal books. What genre do you feel most comfortable when you writing?
Actually, Cinder&Ella is my second New Adult book. A is for Abstinence was NA too because it takes place four years after V is for Virgin. But, even still, Cinder&Ella is sort of a young adult/new adult crossover. YA is definitely the genre I’m most familiar and comfortable with. The majority of my books will probably always be YA, though I’m sure I’ll write more new adult in the future. (I don’t know that I’ll ever be brave enough to write a real “grown-up” book. LOL.) I’ll probably have an equal mix of contemporary and fantasy though. I love both genres too much to neglect one of them. I’m a moody writer, and I need a project for all my moods. :)4.- Cinder&Ella es el primer libro new adult que publicas. También has publicado young adult y libros de temática paranormal. ¿Con qué género te sientes más cómoda cuando escribes?
En realidad, Cinder&Ella es mi segundo libro new adult. A is for Abstinence era NA también porque tiene lugar cuatro años después de V is for Virgin. Pero, aun así, Cinder&Ella es una especie de un crossover Young adult/new adult. YA es sin duda el género con el que estoy más familiarizada y cómoda. I am currently in the process of having The Avery Shaw Experiment translated in Spanish. (No, I don’t’ know when it will release yet.) If it sells well in the language, then I will probably eventually have all of my books translated.5.- Por curiosidad... ¿Es posible que alguno de tus libros se publicase en español? *Cruzo los dedos*
Actualmente estoy en el proceso de tener The Avery Shaw Experiment traducido en español. (No, no sé cuándo se publicará aún.) Si se vende bien en el idioma, entonces probablemente voy a tener todos mis libros traducidos.
6.- How have your life experiences affected the way that you write?
Sure. I don’t know that it’s possible to not let your life experiences affect your writing. That’s not to say that any of my books are based on my life. But the things I feel and learn definitely influence my characters and their experiences.6.- ¿Han afectado tus experiencias de vida a la forma en que escribes?
Claro. No sé si es posible no dejar que tus experiencias de vida afecten tu escritura. Eso no quiere decir que alguno de mis libros esté basado en mi vida. Pero las cosas que siento y aprendo definitivamente influyen en mis personajes y sus experiencias.
7.- Readings have a lot of influence at the time of writing, what kind of genre you like to read?
YA! I am one of those adults who basically stopped maturing at sixteen. I will read a few adult fiction books here and there, but most everything I read is young adult with a great romance story in it. I read more fantasy and paranormal than anything, but I still love a great contemporary.7.- Las lecturas tienen mucha influencia a la hora de escribir, ¿qué tipo de género te gusta leer?
YA! Yo soy uno de esos adultos que básicamente dejaron de madurar a los dieciséis años.
