Centro Cultural Recoleta

El Centro Cultural Recoleta es un centro de exposiciones en el corazón del barrio de La Recoleta. Emplazado en una de las construcciones más antiguas de la ciudad, por el año 1732, funcionó como un convento de la orden de los Franciscanos.  Por casi 250 años funcionó como escuela de agricultura, Jardín botánico, prisión, cuartel militar y asilo de ancianos. El asilo de ancianos duró hasta el año 1978. En el año 1979 se transfiere el edificio a la órbita de la Secretaría de Cultura,y a partir de 1990 cambia su denominación, por su actual nombre: Centro Cultural Recoleta. Se puede visitar de martes a viernes entre las 13:30 y 20:30 y los días sábados, domingos y feriados entre las 11:30 y 20:30. 
The Centro Cultural Recoleta is an arts exhibits centre located in the heart of Recoleta. The building is one of the oldest in the city. Back in 1732 it was used as a convent by the Franciscan order. For nearly 250 years its role changed from convent, to agricultural school, prison, botanical garden, military barracks and finally an elderly retirement home, which lasted until 1978. In 1979 the building was transferred to the Department of Culture and finally in 1990 it was given its current name: Centro Cultural Recoleta.It is open to the general public from Tuesdays to Fridays between the hours of 13:30 to 20:30, and on Saturdays, Sundays and National Holidays between the hours of 11:30 to 20:30.
