Una escalofriante historia, cultura y comida

Gracias al difunto escritor sueco Stieg Larsson, la mayoría de la gente tiene una idea de cómo es Suecia, incluida su fría, bella y algo estremecedora región más septentrional. Ahora bien, está emergiendo una nueva cultura popular, y no en vano la ciudad más grande del norte del país, Umeå, será la capital europea de la cultura en el 2014. Tampoco hay que olvidarse de la gastronomía porque Estocolmo es desde hace tiempo un destino para amantes del buen comer y chefs osados, aunque últimamente la reputación e influencia de esta cocina se ha extendido más allá de sus fronteras. Y dado que la cocina está tan estrechamente ligada a los ingredientes de producción local (ya sea marisco, caza, bayas, hierbas o quesos regionales), no hay como acercarse a su propio lugar de origen.

A chilling history, culture and food

Thanks to the late Swedish writer Stieg Larsson, the majority of the people has an idea of how it is Sweden, included his cold, beautiful and more north slightly region. Además, casi todas las ciudades poseen excelentes museos dedicados a la historia, al arte y a la cultura del país.

Sweden: a wild destination

Dinero: Hay cajeros automáticos por doquier y son fáciles de encontrar.

Cambio de dinero : Forex (0200-22 22 20; www.forex.se) es la mayor empresa de cambio de divisas en Suecia; tiene sucursales en los principales aeropuertos, terminales de ferries y en el centro de las ciudades. Se cobra una comisión de 15 SEK por cada cheque de viaje canjeado.

Los canales suponen rutas de acceso por el interior y comunican muchos lagos. Los cruceros más largos, por el canal de Göta, desde Söderköping (al sur de Estocolmo) a Gotemburgo, operan de mediados de mayo a mediados de septiembre, duran al menos cuatro días y visitan los lagos intermedios.

Rederiaktiebolaget Göta Kanal (031-15 83 11; www.gotacanal.se) opera tres barcos que cubren la ruta completa (4 días) por 9775-17 275 SEK por persona, con pensión completa y excursiones guiadas incluidas. Las oficinas de turismo de la zona disponen de información sobre travesías más cortas y económicas.

Transport

SHIP: For the canals

The canals suppose routes of access for the interior and communicate many lakes. The longest cruises, for Göta’s canall, from Söderköping (to the south of Stockholm) to Gotemburgo, operate of middle of May to the middle of September, last at least four days and visit the intermediate lakes.

Un servicio regular de ferries comunica con Gotland desde Nynäshamn y Oskarshamn, y con un pase de transporte regional se puede llegar a los pintorescos pueblos de pescadores frente a la costa oeste; facilitan información en las oficinas de turismo de Gotemburgo.

Svenska Buss (0771-67 67 67; www.svenskabuss.se) y GoByBus(0771-15 15 15; www.gobybus.se), antiguamente Säfflebussen, también comunican muchas poblaciones meridional con Estocolmo; sus tarifas a veces son más económicas que las de Swebus Express, pero sus servicios son menos frecuentes.

Al norte de Gävle, las rutas de conexión con Estocolmo las atienden varios operadores menores, como Ybuss (0771-33 44 44; www.ybuss.se), que viaja a Sundsvall, Östersund y Umeå.

No hace falta reservar asiento en los vehículos de Swebus Express. Generalmente los billetes para viajar entre lunes y jueves son más baratos, igual que si se compran por Internet o con más de 24 horas de antelación. Los estudiantes y las personas mayores deberían informarse sobre los descuentos; no obstante, la mayoría de las líneas de autobuses solo los aplican a estudiantes con un carné sueco.

Bus

Train

El mejor es el Inlandsbanan (0771-53 53 53; www.inlandsbanan.se), que recorre una ruta panorámica de 1300 km entre Kristinehamn y Gällivare; está considerado como uno de los viajes en tren más interesantes que se puede hacer en Escandinavia. Varios tramos del sur se han de recorrer en autobús, ya que la ruta exclusivamente ferroviaria comienza en Mora. Se tardan 7 horas de Mora a Östersund (414 SEK), y 15 horas de Östersund a Gällivare (962 SEK). Hay un bono que permite viajar sin límite durante dos semanas por 1595 SEK.

Railway companies

Suecia puede llegar a ser un destino muy exótico y el Treehotel en Harads es quizás uno de los mejores emplazamientos para descubrir ese exitismo. Las fotografías hablan por sí solas: se trata de una estructura suspendida sobre un árbol desde la cual se puede ver el río Lule y el bosque nórdico. Además, ofrece actividades como senderismo con raqueta de nieve o paseos en trineo, pesca o piragüismo. El precio, eso sí, es algo prohibitivo, con habitaciones de más de 400 euros por noche.     

Accommodation

Sweden can be a very exotic destination and the Treehotel in Harads is probably one of the best emplacements to discover this exotic touch of Sweden. The photographies speak for itself: it is an structure suspended on a tree from which it is possible to see the river Lule and the northern forest. 4. Lago Siljan

Uno de los bellos parajes para un paseo placentero es en los alrededores del lagoSiljan, en la región de Dalecarlia en el centro de Suecia. Este lago cuya profundidad es de 120 metros es el sexto mayor lago del país con una extensión de 354 km². en donde la mayor ciudad a sus orillas es Mora.

Siljan sí mismo es un lago, pero ha dado su nombre a uno de los sectores turísticos de Suecia. El lago es parte de un gigantesco cráter causado por un meteorito de 360 millones de años atrás.

La belleza del paisaje se ha mantenido gran parte de las características tradicionales de Suecia y las tradiciones de los habitantes han sobrevivido aquí más que en la mayoría de otras partes del país.

Hay casas rurales que en gran medida mantienen el estilo tradicional, construida con troncos y pinatadas de color rojo proveniente de la mina de cobre en Falun. Muchas casas de madera tienen varios cientos de años, en muchos casos con las tradicionales con pinturas murales interiores.

Es en esta región en que se desarrolla la carrera de esquí, llamado Vassaloppet, que se ha hecho mundialmente famosa.

4. Siljan Lake

One of the beautiful places for a pleasant walk is in the surroundings of the Siljan Lake, in the region of Dalecarlia in the center of Sweden. 5. Escania

No me extraña que este país se encuentre entre los destinos de moda del 2014, combina una amplia oferta turística de naturaleza y modernismo.
