2. PULP FICTION de Quentin Tarantino (1994)

5. REQUIEM POR UN SUEÑO de Darrenn Aronofsky (2000)

La música de Clint Mansell, con la ayuda de Kronos Quartet, sirve perfectamente para destrozar las esperanzas del espectador. El compositor se basa en un tema, con fuerte participación del violín (reconozcamos que es el instrumento más decididamente bello pero a la vez desquiciante), que nos recuerda enormemente al planteamiento hecho por Nyman en infinidad de composiciones. Una ida y venida, un baile de desenfreno hacia el abismo. Un Requiem por un sueño, nunca conseguido.

Compañeros de grupo y amantes en la vida real, Glen Hansard y Markéta Irglová conmovieron el mundo del cine con la emocionante "Once" de John Carney, película que les valió el Oscar a la Mejor Canción y les reportó el impulso necesario para comenzar a difrutar la fama y el dinero con su grupo musical. Lamentablemente, no es oro todo lo que reluce y este último año la entrañable pareja se ha separado. Una pena, despedimos "The Swell Season" con un conmovedor documental que nos explica la ruptura de uno de los fenómenos musicales más relevantes de los últimos años.Lo recordamos con la sobrecogedora banda sonora de "Once."

Sin duda, el mejor momento del film es una secuencia musical después de que Tom y Summer pasan la noche juntos.
