Si hablamos de punto mi debilidad son los chales. Tengo una larga lista de proyectos y entre los primeros estaba desde hace tiempo Metalouse, de Stephen West.
Talking about knitting, shawls are my weakness. I have a long list of projects and among the first ones was for a long time Metalouse, by Stephen West.
Es un chal precioso, moderno y colorido. El patrón, gratuito, está diseñado con punto deslizado, un falso jacquard muy fácil de hacer y con un resultado genial, que Stephen West utiliza mucho en sus creaciones. Nunca había tejido con esta técnica y ya sabéis que me encanta probar cosas nuevas así que estaba expectante. Me gusta que sea tan rápida y sencilla, sólo hay que estar pendiente de la tensión para que el tejido no se frunza ni quede suelto.
It is a precious, modern and coloring shawl. The pattern is free and is designed with slip stitch, a very-easy-to-do false jacquard with a fantastic result, which Stephen West uses a lot in his creations. It had never knitted with this technique and you already know that I love trying new things so it was expectant. I like it is so quick and simple. It is only necessary to pay attention to the tension so the fabric does not wrinkle or loose.
En el patrón recomienda tejer el chal con Cashmere Queen, de Schoppel-Wolle, y con Shiraito, de la marca japonesa Noro, pero no conseguí encontrar esta última en el color que me gustaba, así que opté por Polaris (color 64), combinada con Fama (color 572), ambas de Katia. Polaris es una lana multicolor afieltrada, con brillo y que tiene un tacto mullido y muy suave. Lo mejor son sus colores, ¡difícil elegir!
In the pattern is recommended to knit the shawl with Cashmere Queen, from Schoppel-Wolle, and with Shiraito, from the Japanese brand Noro, but I did not manage to find this latter in the color I liked, so I chose Polaris (color 64), combined with Fama (color 572), both from Katia. Este verano he estado en Holanda y visité la tienda de Stephen West en Amsterdam, Stephen & Penelope. Sentía mucha curiosidad porque Stephen es todo un personaje (no dejéis de ver su Instagram), pero sobre todo por ver y tocar nuevas lanas.
This summer I have been in Holland and I visited Stephen West's shop in Amsterdam, Stephen & Penelope. He was curious about it because Stephen is a true character (do not miss to see his Instagram), but especially to see and touch new wools.
Finalmente compré tres madejas de Merino Singles, de La Bien Aimée. Y el estupendo libro Mad Colour, de Tin Can Knits. Sigo a estas diseñadoras desde hace años y me encantan sus creaciones. ¡Espero tejer todos los patrones del libro! De Stephen West ya tenía WestKnits BestKnits, que contiene un montón de patrones de chales que están esperándome. ¡Se me acumula la faena!
Finally I bought three hanks of Merino Singles, from La Bien Aimée. And the marvellous book Mad Colour, from Tin Can Knits. I follow these designers for years and I lover their work. I hope to knit all the patterns in the book! I already had WestKnits BestKnits from Stephen West, which contains a heap of shawl patterns waiting for me. So much work to do!
