Schoenstatt is found some eight kilometres from the city of Coblenza, in Germany. The actual name can be translated as : "A beautiful place". a group of Augustine nuns settled in the area in the XIIth Century. Early on in the XXth Century, the Pallottine fathers, settled in the area. One of these settlers was father Joseph Keternich, who would then become the founder and leader of the Schoenstatt movement. In the heart of the Belgrano, on Echeverría street 3632, we can find one of the many Schoenstatt sanctuaries in Argentina. This particular one was the first to be built in the city of Buenos Aires. It celebrated its 50 years of existence just a couple of days ago, on the 18th of October. The building is basically a replica of the original sanctuary in Germany. There are around 200 other sanctuaries, around the world, that imitate the original construction.
