SERIES - ELTONmanía - The Bitch is Back

Hora de cambiar de tempo.  The Bitch is Back es una canción considerada como uno de los mejores temas de Elton, en el género Hard Rock.  También compuesto por Elton y escrito por Bernie Taupin, este hit pertenece a su álbum Caribou, lanzado en 1974.  Alcanzó la posición #1 en los charts en Canadá; #4 en Estados Unidos, y #15 en Reino Unido.  La canción fue inspiración original, no de Elton ni de Taupin, sino de la esposa de Taupin en aquel entonces.  Bernie entonces escribió la lírica, y Elton la musicalidad.
En su época esta canción fue prohibida en un número de emisoras radiales de los Estados Unidos y otros países, por el uso de la palabra "bitch".  La historia dice que un día en que Elton estaba de mal humor y quejandose de todo lo que le rodeaba, la esposa de Taupin, Maxine, lo oyó y dijo: "Uh-oh... The bitch is back!"  A Bernie se le ocurrió que esa era una gran frase y escribió las letras de la canción; luego Elton la música.
Hay mucha historia alrededor de Elton y su música.  En 2003 cuando Hillary Clinton iba a las librerías a promover su autobiografía, un grupo político conservador denominado "The Free Republic" escenificaba "audio protestas" tocando esta canción durante sus sesiones de autógrafos.
Para ser exactos, la canción dice la palabra "bitch" cuarenta y dos veces.
